"Magic Parade with me!" |
You know, things that don't really have a major impact on the game itself, but are interesting anyways. I'll start!
-The version of "YMCA" by the Village People in DDR EXTREME US PS2 was actually a remade version. I found this out after listening to it up close (via nabbing it from here) and realizing it wasn't exactly the same as the original mix. Sure enough, the original mix sounds subtly different.

the way you move (UNI2) is also a remix. AFAIK, there is no full version.

tbh YMCA would have been remade because there's no way in hell the original was a flat BPM.

"OMG KON!" |
Well I know there are quite a few songs that were put in the game but were at some point taken out. Some obviously have been posted here but I dont think some of the others I have found have either...
Here is the list of stuff I found...
-Jump was apparently one of the songs available to play at the 1st Mix location Test however it never made it into the game.
-Nemesis is on DDRMAX (CS US). It apparently can be ripped too.
-Timepiece Phase II has been in the Master Songlist but never released in the game.
-PARANOiA EVOLUTION (From Nonstop Megamix). I have no clue what game its from but its junk data apparently.
-AM-3P has an alternate version from PSX data that was never used.
-Eyes On Me (From Final Fantasy VIII) was also on the master songlist I believe but there is no data for it as far as I'm aware.
-Beautiful Life was a song unlocked for a limited time via e-amuse on DDR SuperNOVA to promote the movie Backdancers. It was removed after a short period of time.
-Banners for songs not in the game can also be found on some mixes. Livin La Vida Loca and Your Love being examples for some arcade games.
-You can find a really dumb banner for Xanadu, a different disc and a different background in one of the mixes (2nd Mix?)
-Dancing Stage Euromix 2 has 3 licenses removed from the game that can still be found on the disc.

Maybe like how Memories was on EXTREME and Konami forgot about it.

It's impossible to get 100% on DDR X CS so maybe there will be a special unlock like in DDR Extreme CS with memories.

- Boys play on the left, and girls play on the right!
- The song "DanceDanceRevoution" was originally called "~Fin~"
- Konami hired choreographers to come up with dance routines for all 9 songs in DDR 1st Mix, and made the Basic steps correspond to the routine. Because only the steps are shown, nobody to this day has any fucking clue what the routines are.
- The CS Song 'Virtuality' is a licensed song from a Cartoon Network cartoon about a pop group made up of alien robots who live inside a DDR machine

What? This is all amazing information. I love this thread!
I wish the choreographers would have revealed the dance routines. Plus how would you even dance to PARANOiA or TRIP MACHINE?

They didn't forget, it was locked via a button code that Konami took forever to release to the public. A very belated Burger King tie-in.

Not unless you can hack into the game and get 100% by that method.Which i think someone already has and since then there is nothing that unlocks when you get 100%.

NEMESIS can only be ripped from the demo version of DDRMAX. It's not on the final version anywhere. On that note, the Dancemania preview of BYE BYE BABY BALLOON is on DDRMAX US because they left it on and just disabled the Dancemania ad screen where it normally would play.
And as far as I know, any supposed "junk data" for PARANOIA EVOLUTION (FROM NONSTOP MEGAMIX) was a hoax. It has never been considered for inclusion on a real game.

A Stupid Barber was also in Extreme 2's data, but was never used in the game.
You mean EXTREME? It was part of Master Mode. Before it was an actual song everybody called it "Overloaded".
