I have the WII DDR 1 2 and 3 and am so sick of all the songs and can't find any way to download any new ones. So, I have tried to just listen to my Ipod and put the game on mute so I can try to listen to other music and still be able to "dance" for exercise. Surely, someone has come up with a way to find songs (if they can't be purchased) to go along with the steps to the games on mute by listening to the BMP of other songs, etc.? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

....You know you could just buy yourself a PS2/PS3 and get other songs, right?

Or, EVEN BETTER, you can get Stepmania and download/create songs and stepcharts to your liking.

Problem = solved.

Get a swap magic disc and try connecting your wii to the internet to this site.
Go under Konami -> DDR -> Simfiles
Download simfiles and drag them to the disc space of the song(s) you don't like and eject the disc. Your wii should run downloaded songs.

This.

Also, go to other arcade or buy other mixs.
But if you want to keep the easy way : there is billions of file on the internet.
Here too, you can find some good pack of songs (and if you're looking for official ddr song, all of them, you're on the right place).

Is Stepmania a PC game? And, is there a way to see the bpms to songs on Youtube somewhere?

Unless you have a pad that hooks up to your computer, you're not going get any exercise from downloading Stepmania.

If you have a PS2 lying around, the library of DDR games for that system is enormous. Even if you don't have one, you should be able to find one for less than $50 easily. The DDR games for that system will probably run less than $20 a piece an most include over 70 songs. Just remember to pick up a PS2 pad also.

Can't fault you there. The library for the Wii is definitely interesting but kinda small and weak musically compared to other DDR games.

You, sir, are awesome for this.

Is the Wii console the only gaming system you have? If it is...

Do you have a PlayStation, PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 3?

If you have a PSone, there is DanceDanceRevolution, DanceDanceRevolution DISNEY MIX and DanceDanceRevolution KONAMIX.

If you have a PStwo, you've got everything for the PSone plus DDRMAX DanceDanceRevolution, DDRMAX2 DanceDanceRevolution, DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME, DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME 2, DanceDanceRevolution Disney CHANNEL EDITION, DanceDanceRevolution SuperNOVA, DanceDanceRevolution SuperNOVA 2, DanceDanceRevolution X and DanceDanceRevolution X2.

Unfortunately due to the way the hardware works, if you have a PS3, then all there is right now is the PlayStation version of the newest Wii game DanceDanceRevolution. But the awesome thing about this version of the game is that you can go onto the PlayStation Network and download additional songs from many of the past American DDR games. So far there are 30 additional songs you can download and there should be more in the future.

Also, the original Xbox has four games in the ULTRAMIX series and the Xbox 360 has three games in the UNIVERSE series. The ULTRAMIX games are not compatible with the 360. The Xbox requires a special pad and the 360 uses a USB pad.

Yes and yes, the way StepMania works is you can take music you own and write your own steps to the music. It requires some work and takes practice to learn how to match the arrows to the beat of the music but there is also an online repository here on Zenius -I- Vanisher that has "simfiles" of both official songs that have been in past DDR games and customs made by members of this site. But...

If you go to http://www.stepmania.com/ there is a page that will tell you how to hook (for the most part) PlayStation DDR pads to your computer to use with StepMania. There are also adapters for Xbox / Nintendo pads if you search for them. This will allow you to play the same way you do with your Wii. The StepMania site will also show you how to install songs into the game.

It's up to you, OpenITG is more advanced. It contains more options for power players and other refinements. It also looks different from a typical DDR game. This program works the same way StepMania does because it's based on StepMania. All the songs for StepMania also work for OpenITG.

Hope that helps sort everything out for you. Welcome to ZIV! Smile

My local gameshop still not selling DDR 2010 (Wii and PS3 version). Sad

Oh, well... like someone said before, Stepmania = solution. Roll Eyes

And now WE are smarter than Konami to choose the best song for DDR. Roll Eyes

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!"
You can't even get ps3 ddr here. One site imported a few but the main chains aren't carrying it.

We can't even get DDR universe DLC here, which is also annoying.

From the looks of things, OP would rather buy a Ps2 and a ddr bundle than buy DDR Mario Mix.

I've played DDR for years yet never felt the need to go Stepmania. There's something about simulators of popular games that I simply can't touch, even if they have more options and such. I guess that's what happens when I have all but two beatmania IIDX games for the PS2 and most of the pop'n music games on the PS2 (including portable for the PSP).
Will not change sig till pop'n 17, IIDX 17, and GF/DM XG get CS versions.

My recommendation since it has not really been touched, is that you need to go to your local arcade and play. Arcade versions carries 100s of songs with DDR X2 having nearly 500 to choose from. Playing at your local arcade is great as you will meet new friends and will find playing on arcade platforms more fun than soft pads and home versions. Use this site's arcade location guide to find a ddr machine near you.

Personally Arcade DDR games have always been better than home versions due to better pads, a stricter timing window and a high score table (though the latter no longer seems to apply outside of e-amuse regions since SuperNOVA :/)

"Well."
Arcades are great unless you're the only one who visits it. OTL Alaska is so lonely.

But as others said, try to get other systems/DDRs, or do what Aegis said. But how could one get tired of the songs? There's no point in playing DDR if you get tired of the songs. D:

The high scores save for single songs in SuperNOVA and DDR X2, otherwise, there are high scores for 4 courses in SuperNOVA, all courses in SN2, not sure about X/X2.

DDR X has select courses called Ranking courses (numbered 1 through 8) four of them are Nonstop meter style and the others are 4/8 hit point Oni Challenge style. Each of them follow a common theme, like Naoki songs, Smile.dk songs, classical songs, etc. Top ten scores in each ranking course on each difficulty (Normal - Difficult) is saved.

It should be noted SuperNOVA single song rankings are very pointless, as the single song rankings are not advertised in the attract screens and cannot be seen who holds the record unless you actually select that song and play it (which then it briefly shows on the screen between the song selection screen and the actual game play screen) meaning there is very little advertising time of one's achievement and the recorder holder and challengers would have no effective way to tracking any changes to said score.
