DanceDanceRevolution Edits Thread AC

I think it's about time we made a thread for this.

Basically this thread is for posting edits that are compatible to be played on a DDR machine that supports USB edit data. I will add links to the first post to keep them organized by the users pack and possibly songs and ratings information.

I will post some of my own edits soon along with 3 or 4 different packs send to me by “darqs.”

Additionally this thread is to help people who have trouble or do not know how to use edit data at the arcade. Also I am hoping to get some confirmation on wether or not edit data is compatible on all machines arounf the world as long as you rename the .dat file.


I will be adding more data shortly and I hope some of you can help contribute. If you have any questions just post them here.

Damn, i have edits on my YT channel, and i actually have a response video of one guy actually taking my SABER WING Edit and played it on an X machine in Japan...

I wonder, is it possible to just post videos of your edits to songs, but in the "Edit" format? (Where you see the lines, different colored arrows for beats, etc., etc.)

Has anyone actually poked around in the files and looked what's there? There might be some sort of region code or signature, rather than just a name of a dat file.

I'm glad a thread was made for this, I have over 200 edits for DDR songs in my library. Obviously not all the songs are on X2, but I figured people could enjoy them in other ways. All ratings are on the ITG scale except for the songs in X or X2 pack (minus Only My Railgun).

All 9 of the charts for Only My Railgun are done by me, none of the charts in that file are official.

I kept all official charts in the other files unless it met one of these criteria:

- It had an official Challenge chart (except Challenge only songs)
- There is more than one edit on Single or Double

If anyone has any requests for individual songs or small groups of songs, I'd be happy to upload a smaller pack for anyone

I've been meaning to make some X/X2 compatible edits for a while, but since I have no PS2 DDRs and the online editor refuses to work for me, I've been somewhat limited. Annoyingly, every edit on my local machine is an ITG-style edit (mostly by DARQS or XYTHER) which I'm not a fan of.

Oh my... that's a lot of files O_o
Btw, do your zips include DDRX/X2 ready file ?

It says "simfile is private" lol.

I made some edit for the EU, for now, 5 are finished.

I really wanted to make Dr.D try one of those 2 songs... but since i can't figure out how to have something for JAP when doing for the EU... it's not possible.

What's the code on the Asian version? I wanted to do some edits with the online editor, but I don't know what to rename the file.

That, and She is my Wife, Wine Red Remix, and True Love Remix are not on DDR X2 AC.

EDIT: Yeah, Ive only done the latter three on Stepmania. The first one, I don't have the official simfile for.

DDR_EDIT_E.DAT is for Europeen.
DDR_EDIT_U.DAT is for America.
DDR_EDIT_J.DAT is for Japan.

But again, we don't know if the rename trick works with edits done on the online editor. It might work, maybe...

None of mine are X/X2 ready, all of the packs have SM files. I unfortunately do not have access to the Japanese PS2 editing materials

Ya, I'm hoping to post just USB ready files in .DAT form. As darqs said, you just need to rename the .DAT file to make it playable in different regions. I'll post some files later today I think.

Oh, I forgot about the other editors. The ones that enable you to put hands on a chart, that can be played on a DDR Machine.

I know there is some video with hands on ddr but it was a bug on an old build.

A friend of Dr.D put up a video showing will as an ITG-style chart. He said it was an unofficial step editor, and something that the CS games didn't allow more than two arrows as part of a jump.

We need to see that video then. And next, get the editor. We could make interesting single charts or double charts.
And also, some couple (because we can't use 2 differents single edits like they do in japan to simulate a couple chart).

But i'm not holding my breath for this, because it's a bit hard to believe. So yes, i need to see this video.
