You may have noticed there's a new "Notifications (beta)" under your user drop down.
The purpose of the notifications page for the time being is:
01. To notify if a user has sent you a private message.
02. To notify if a user has replied to a thread that you posted in, provided you are one of the latest 5 posters.
03. To notify if a user has commented on a picture that you uploaded.
04. To notify if a user has commented on a picture that you commented on, provided you are one of the latest 5 posters.
05. To notify if a user has commented on a simfile that you uploaded.
06. To notify if a user has commented on a simfile that you commented on, provided you are one of the latest 5 posters.
07. To notify if a user visits an arcade regularly that you visit or have visited.
08. To notify if a user has visited an arcade that you visit or have visited.
09. To notify if a user has commented on an arcade that you visit or have visited.
10. To notify if a user has added a picture to an arcade that you visit or have visited.
11. To notify if a user has added a game to an arcade that you visit or have visited.
12. To notify if a user has updated a game to an arcade that you visit or have visited.
13. To notify if a user has removed a game to an arcade that you visit or have visited.
14. To notify if a user has added an arcade location within 50 miles of your location.

Having a filter option for the notifications would be a good idea to implement.
Will the user name still blink when receiving a private message? Will the user name blink for any notification?

How about a notification for when a arcade location that you visit (or have visited) has been updated or changed?

I thought there was a notification in place
cause there was once or twice that i logged in to Z-i-V i noticed that my user name and points were blinking telling me that I have a message from another user.

Great! Thanks for adding this, I'm sure this would be useful! Better than Email notifications like in other forums!

That would be the negative rating badge; but it could be a bug considering I see a positive rating in the forums.

I like the new notifications, the badges were an unexpected and neat touch.

I think it would be great if we could choose which notifications to toggle on or off. Other than that, great job!

Lets be honest with ourselves here. If you have a negative rating then you should have no badges what so ever, cause if you think about it you didn't really earn/deserve it. You should only get a badge if and only if you earned/deserve it. By giving a user a badge for the negative rating your basically encouraging (not that this site encourages it to begin with) the behavior of said user to continue to troll these forums.

Technically...The red "!" is a sign to let other users, and yourself, know that you are in the negatives. Although i don't see it as encouraging that the said user should feel PROUD of having a "badge", it's more the slight opposite. It should be a warning to those who are in the negative ratings to "sharpen" up their attitude and follow the rules...
...yet i somehow see a backdrop with this as well, this also signifies to the REST of the members that there is someone in the negatives and literally stamps them with a "HEY I AM IN THE RED ZONE!! (no pun intended)", making it "easy target" for some higher members to lower the ratings of said user in the red...and we ALL know/been through something like this in the past >__>

Hmm, if the badge is just a general indication of someone's rating then doesn't that make it more suited for the rating field? Or is otherwise somewhat redundant?
Maybe the rating field should go away from the user info box altogether, replaced by this badge system, and only be seen if someone clicks on a profile or wants to rate someone?
...if you hover your mouse over the badge it can say the exact rating. Much like how hovering over the + sign tells you how much a user has donated.

Suggestion: perhaps make Notifications a separate tab between the user name and time at the top so its a little bit easier to access. Then that can open down for notification preferences and other options.

Agreed. Also, a suggestion:
Can you add a notification that pops up when someone creates a new Arcade location within X miles of you?
