Many people compained about the lack of certain features in DDR for the PS3. What should be included with every DDR CS game?
-At least 65 songs. Going from 70+ on PS2 to 50 on PS3 is disappointing.
-Doubles
-Edit mode
-Ability to unlock everything(eventually) through normal play
-Some kind of master mode, mission mode, etc.

I will point out, even though previous mixes had more content, a lot of the content was ported from previous mixes/the current arcade mix. This current DDR has all new content. DDR Max had a similar issue with a tiny list, but all brand new. I'd rather have 50 brand new songs than 70 with 30 revivals.
But for the most part I agree with your list of:
Doubles
Edit mode
Single player campaign
Freeplay unlock methods

I agree with the OP on all those; DOUBLE, EDIT please. I also don't like that Octo Mode just supplanted Challenge difficulty; it should have been its own mode, leaving Challenge for real Challenge charts.
It stopped being true with EXTREME2. EXTREME2 to X all had ~70 songs that were all new (for North America). Anyway, even if AC mixes came out that featured the songs, in North America, AC mixes aren't widespread and many of us don't have easy access or even any access to these so even when we got 1998 years after EXTREME was released, it was still pretty sweet and new for me.
But even then, why wouldn't you want 50 brand new songs alongside 20 well picked revivals? It also allows for making some pretty cool courses.

Agreed. I think now that DDR will be on PS3, the following are necessities.
Need
-Online components.
-DLC readily available on initial release date.
-A unique boss song layout.
-Ability to unlock ALL songs. Why can't I have TO DA JAM or all versions of NYE on my music wheel?
-Doubles
-Edit Mode
-A mission mode, which should be much more complex in the way the missions are portrayed by the characters. Like Street Master Mode in DDR X except the charecters might have A.I. or be more interactive rather than just a picture and some captions. Giving the characters a voice would help.
Need To Improve
-Octo-Move as a selectable mode.
-The video quality of recordings. It only reaches 360p.
-User interface. Cover flow would have been nice.
-Background videos. Seriously these are dumb. The only one I see fit is for Find You Again and maybe NYE. I was disappointed that ever snow didn't have an AMV.
-Groove trigger. I don't know how many times I've failed because of this.
-Chain arrow. If this is even kept they need to work on it holistically.
-Song results. They are just giving away AAA's
-Modifications. The currently available stepchart mods are getting boring fast.

Simply put, I think that CS version of DDR would be best if it had the following:
-At least 65 songs
-Doubles and Edit Mode
-Interface corresponds to their arcade counterpart (Not very important to some, but I know I am not the only one that wants this kept)
-A good, but fast'ish mission mode (Like DDR but with a few trick mods. Although not as crazy as the ones in some SN2's HMM cases)
-Ability to purchase the unlock for all songs (Some may find this pointless, but some would find this brilliant)
-Gameplay has the default layout and noteskins or at leasts gives you an option
And basically mostly what everyone else said above.

Like... that, exactly.
As far as different song versions go, I think they should at least be a way or code to guarantee which version you're playing.
Can you still adjust the brightness of BGs in PS3? I didn't bother messing with the settings in X2, but they almost ruined characters for me because I soon noticed that fast moving lights or blue sparkles would orbit the character upon so many combos and once I couldn't un-see it, it sucked. xP Point being, BGs can be pretty, but they need to avoid making it flashy and distracting. Some of the PS3 ones are busy and trippy.

Not only that, I think that the newer DDR CS games should have an ability to unlock everything for it's proceeding game (like in the Wii titles)

A perfectly executed bump.
DDR needs to bring back the online room feature from SN1-SN2.

Seriously. A lack of an online component on a PS3 is just stupid. Why would you not have that on one of the biggest online gaming consoles?

The same reason they don't have a steady flow of DLC.. they don't care!

They don't care because outside Asia, DDR is the same as Guitar Hero from a business perspective.

Plus, I actually really liked the online component in SuperNOVA2. It's literally how I unlocked most of the songs. The online mode was also probably the closest thing I had to experiencing something like e-Amuse.
