It shouldn't take much time, lol. It's not like one big textbook. Shouldn't take hours.

Yeah, it shouldn't take that much time. The font I used is actually rather large in comparison to other books printed at that size, so the number of pages just makes it seem longer than it really is.
There is still probably a plethora of grammatical errors and such despite several checks and revisions from myself and others, but if worse comes to worst I can always update the PDF contents on lulu.com and/or release a more definitive version of the book later (maybe with extra chapters covering a few other tangents of the community up to the present)

So I finally had the chance to pick up a copy of the book and read it instantly. Although a bit short it was fun and interesting (I loved the part about Yasu traveling trough Japan to show his AAAs of Max 300). Thanks for writing this book Aaron !
Anyway, I also noted a few mistakes and inconsistencies. I'm not a native speaker so I could be wrong.
- p24: "starting to fade" => "started"
- p35: "they were mixes". Isn't the "they" superfluous ?
- p126: "this was make no sense"
A few legends for the pictures are also truncated, I don't remember which ones exactly though.

Much thanks for the feedback.
Are those in the book available from lulu or in a PDF you printed. (I know someone else pointed out a bunch of small errors as well)
Thanks for reading it. What I'm going to do (since it is no cost to set it up) is revise the book contents to fix as many of the errors/nuances as best I can thanks to feedback and release a new revision of it for sale. I wouldn't use the word "definitive" because no matter how many times I revise it there are still bound to be some small errors with it, hence that part in the into "I'm not much of a writer"
Also, when I had rough drafts and experimented with font sizes, etc., I thought 6x9 for the book size would be all right but in the end a standard paperback size might be just as fine.
TsukiyoX> I think I remember you saying you wanted to go through with a fine tooth comb for any and all errors. Did you still have any interest in that?

This is the lulu.com version, I picked it up from the french player mentioned earlier in this thread. First page reads revision 44.ポスト #107 · 2011-09-02 05:32:44amにポスト 12.7年前

Many thanks. I have not seen the finalized version from lulu, I only have a proofread copy. Can you post a pic of the page(s) where the legends for the pictures are truncated. I want to look at the margins/borders on the PDF. It looked fine in my copy but I'm curious what happened when it got to lulu. Actually, just a list of page numbers/which picture/caption got clipped would suffice.
Thanks for the feedback.

/me opens the original file
Hmm, the source file is okay but the PDF is missing the last word. I wonder what happened there. At least this is something I can fix.
(All the more reason to refine a new version of this book with the suggestions I have received to date; if I can get a few moments together this weekend I'll make a new revision and replace the one on lulu.com ).
EDIT> Okay, the PDF I have is fixed but I might as well as the other change requests before uploading a new PDF to replace the old one.
Thanks a lot for pointing this out.

I'll let you know when I update the PDF on lulu. Hopefully I can have everything up by tomorrow evening my time (it just before midnight on Friday here now). I'll try to at least work in some of the small bugs and nuances in the English as well by then.
I quickly threw up a revision with that photo caption fixed but I'll still make a new revision with the grammar corrections in the next day or so.
When that is finished, I am going to see how it would look as a 5x8 paperback since the whole book looks "big". This is fine for people like me with crappy eyes but maybe I could make this more compact...
Okay, I gave TsukiyoX a copy of the raw text so he can help edit it for grammar/English/wording mistakes. Once I merge in those changes I'll bump up the revision number.
Also, I'll work on a 5x8 sized page for comparison to the current 6x9 size. If it doesn't look too bad (only the pictures would be a problem, I think), I might make that version available for purchase/download, too.
