This thread is basically for players interested in moving up to the next "area", and whatnot. An area can be a difficulty, a foot rating (especially for 10-footers), anything.

Some good gateway songs to reach 10 feet:

-Healing Vision (angelic mix) Heavy
-Sakura Heavy
-Entry of the Gladiators Challenge

And you guys can add on.

Would Konoko no nanatsu no oiwaini Heavy be a good gateway for 10-footers?

This is why they made the 18-point scale. It's easy now; 13s are good gateways to 14s which are good gateways to 15s...
It also identified the glaring lack of gateways, so we're seeing a lot more 14s in X2 now.

Anything that is rated 14 on X2 is a good gateway to what was previously 10 material.

"Give me a steady beat."
Holic is a good primer for learning Doubles (if that counts). The charts are straight forward, even on Expert, and are all left-foot-right-foot-left-foot.

I guess exotic ethnic Heavy and My Summer Love Heavy would be a great song if you want to move on to 10-footer songs

Only Exotic Ethnic if you do all the crossovers, otherwise it's a real spamfest.

Obviously, Paranoia SURViVOR Heavy => Paranoia SURViVOR MAX Heavy => Paranoia SURViVOR MAX Challenge

As was already said, Sakura is good for getting into the 10s

Not really as it's quite different from many 10 foot songs. The only thing good for konoko is the 16th run and that's even a stretch. A better alternative would be across the nightmare challenge. It has the speed and it has 16th drills that are simple. Learning these drills on beat will help greatly with Max 300 and other simpler 10s.

Meh, Holic is too simple for a doubles song to be of value. The general consensus here is jane jana being the best entry-level doubles song to master. It has plenty of turns and cross overs, it's slow and streamy. It teaches you a lot of the basics of doubles turning. CSFILSM is excellent on doubles for stamina training and streams. It's easy to complete but it tests your speed and stamina.

exotic ethnic only helps in Stamina and helps with crossing over at high speeds My Summer Love does not help you in anyway what so over in 10s. It's a piece of cake to complete.

Sakura is ok for the speed but really lacks the intensity most 10s offer. Paranoia Survivor Max is just Paranoia Survivor on mirror so knowing one means knowing the other for the most part. I will strongly disagree that PSM leads into PSMO. PSMO's crossovers and intensity are well beyond with PSM offers. I would say something like Max 300 SMMM Challenge and Respect would lead better into PSMO.

Afronova Primeval has more intensity that Afronova does. Either one only offers stamina, Primeval offering quick twisting and turning. AND DON'T USE THE BAR. Using the bar is not a guaranteed way of making you better at 10s. There's a proper way to use the bar to help with your performance, otherwise it just hinders you. Many people just assume that using the bar makes them better because they see top tier players using it. In fact, I see people using the bar on 9s and under and they just look like they're playing awkwardly and uncomfortably. I say, get the stamina and ability to pass your 10s (and anything else for that matter) without the bar then, learn to use the bar properly to increase your scores and try things beyond stuff like PSMO.

I relate using the bar to hiking. You see a lot of hikers buying the best gear and using trekking poles but they don't even know the basics of hiking. They get the best gear thinking it makes them a better hiker. Knowing how to hike with proper footing with out a pole is essential. Then, when you use a trekking pole, knowing how to properly use it to shift your weight on it is essential. I see many people become exhausted after a few miles with a trekking pole while myself and others I hike with easily pull 15+ miles without specialized gear. The others just assume that because the better hikers use the equipment, they should too and that's just not true.
