Derailing a dead debate - Rebirth 2 looks horrible as of now from what I have seen.

Perhaps you'd like to explain why?

Because feedback can be helpful Wink

Well I'm half-way through actually giving this pack a fair shot, so far I've liked a few files enough that I am going to keep them, will post a slightly more interesting review this weekend when I finish the other 12 files.

Some of my overall comments:
Sync seems proper on everything (BPM's and OFFSETs, which is nice since my machine's Offset is so very close to ITG2AC so I don't have to change very much).
Steps are very technical, yes they go to the music, but they are so damn technical overall (every damn noise is stepped)
Sync gimmicks aren't as bad as I initially assumed.
Some of the songs are pretty good.

Well the first 4 files I played were not good, I based the entire pack on those being the norm.

Just got a 93.88% on HOTN tonight, I haven't played that song in forever, it used to kill me to squeeze a pass out of it, and I almost FC'd it, I messed up one small section and got a combo-killing Good on one step. I still haven't FC'd a 12, but I'm impressed at how well I did on this song.

I was hoping that Chik Habit would be my first 12-foot FC, but I always miss a shit step in the middle.

UPDATED POST...

And I'm done, I plan to keep Arcadian (Castilian II), Electrolized, Resurrected Replayer, For You, and Presentiment (Stage 4-B).

Here are my comments on this pack (take them for what they are, simply my biased opinions):

Arcadian - Well I really like this chart. The steps go so well to the music, and the song is half-way decent, the gimmick at the end is acceptable since there's no steps, and I've never seen mines used this way (to force you to not step on one of the four arrows, I'm actually eager to see how this plays on my pad), in other words I'm keeping this simfile even though it's Expert only, it's a good file IMO.

Destination Relapse - I don't like the song, the chart seems properly stepped (patterns all seem pad-friednly) but all those 1/16ths at 200 BPM seem killer and the lack of bass in the song makes it hard for me to get into. Then that long 1/16th run just makes this chart out of my league (but 14's are out of my league so)...

Electronized - Song is good, again the step patterns seem pad-friendly, and it's a very good 10 footer, think I'll keep this one as well, arrows go very well to the music.

Enraptured Soulz - I can't bring myself to play this again, let's just leave it as the gimmicks are blah.

Fantasy Flight - I really don't like this song, chart seems over-stepped to me, especially the longer runs in the 2nd half, steps seem to be in proper place and I understand the steps going to the music, but I really don't like this song.

For You - Great song choice and no sync gimmicks (on a breakbeat song in an ITG-fan pack really!!!) and good charts = win win win. Not sure about the hand jumps but I do hear how that went to the song and it was very lightly used, I'm going to keep this my only complaint is lack of easier charts.

Gentleman - Great song choice, horrible gimmick use, the steps seem feasible although a little overboard. Remove the gimmicks, add easier charts, and this would have been a keeper (even with the challenge chart, I think I could handle this).

GoodBye - Song is screaming 8 foot max at me, it's just so plain. Obviously this means I think the steps are over the top (although technically accurate), and the steps at beats 180 and 204 are insane (although technically accurate, IMO not every sound in the song needs to be stepped).

Gravity Blast - Hate the song, hate the streams, hate the gimmicks, and the steps feel like 4ms early (the only file that has seemed off-beat in this pack), that's a freakin evil 12 footer (180 BPM with 1/16th LONG streams that switch feet, this 12 footer is tougher than most 13's).

Hatsune - Awful song, especially with the highly distorted vocals, and shit man these steps are insane (12-footer my ASS). There's nothing enjoyable or fun IMO in this file, and the very last jump is WAY LATE.

Lament - I couldn't get through this file, all the gimmicks are making my head explode, I'm incapable of making a constructive comment other than if you enjoy it GREAT, have fun.

Miracle - Oh no more gimmicks, more 1/24th steps used just to make the chart harder, and more crappy songs. What I really hate about this file are the three-step turns followed by mines, those types of steps piss me off enough, and with mines to blow up because I'm not spinning fast enough, kiss my @$$ and learn how to properly step a song (I'm talking about the sections with R U D M R U D M R U D M, the correct way to play those steps is to spin around).

Mirage Garden - WTF... Horrible song, steps are just insane, I honestly can't evalute this, other than it seems like nonsense.

Negative Nature - I love how the song changes styles over and over, but I don't love those 1/24th drills. Before I would keep this, I would have to make sure everything is perfectly synched (may be a pain with the gimmicks and all the tempo changes) and it's not worth it since there's only one chart that I don't enjoy (overly complex for the song).

Oosanbashi - Not sure if the steps actually fit the music here (maybe they do), I think the song is nice and would have been great with an easier step-chart (no 1/24th steps please) kthxbye.

Presentiment - I like it, the 1/64th jumps (or whatever they were) sounded like they hit the music, song isn't all that intense (although more intense than most songs in this pack) and the steps fit well with the music (not overly difficult) oh and I like this song choice. Another keeper.

Resurrected - I like this one alot, the steps go very well with the music and I love how you used the mine stream to go with the music (good use of mines overall and this from someone who HATES mines). Also the steps go well with the music, seems like this will be a very fun song to play (although I'm unsure about the 1/32nd steps), this IS my most favorite simfile in this pack!!

Smoooch - Song sounds good, step patterns are great, the ONLY thing that bugs me are the 1/24th drills (don't sound like they fit the song and makes the steps not fun IMO).

Stereo Sonic - Gallops were way over-used, the steps seem to technical for me, perhaps using different patterns would have made it more interesting, and the 1/16th runs especially w/mines look like they would be killer, and the sync gimmicks (although not horrible) made the file less enjoyable. Overall the song doesn't energize me enough to make me want to step these patterns / speeds, perhaps toning it down to a 10 would be more appropriate.

Talli Hua - The biggest problem I had with this file were the repeated spins (like R U D R U D) those three arrow spins are so annoying, and with mines thrown around them, I consider this to be a poorly stepped chart. And those Green arrows, somehow I don't think they are correct (although I may be wrong, I don't care to check).

Tanglang - Great song, great steps, annoying gimmicks. A roll crashed my SM, but I really liked the steps if only the gimmicks were toned down a bit (some of them are just fine, but in other spots the gimmicks are overly abused), shame because this would have been a keeper.

The Sonic Song - Crap song + Wall of 1/16ths = Recycle Bin.

The Vampire Saga - Song is halfway decent, but damn this chart is very intense, if there was an easier difficulty I think I would have enjoyed that more for this song, as is it's just to technical for my taste (and the streams are all over, this would be extremely energy draining, doubt I'd be able to make it even half-way, easily deserving of its 13-rating).

White Tiger - Horrible song + Sync Gimmicks + Extremely technical steps = fail fail fail. Sure I could probably pass this if I tried, 1/16th runs at 160BPM aren't that hard, but seriously this song is so awful no way do I feel energized to move that fast hearing this.

Those aren't spins in Miracle Meets and Talli Hua. The mines are there to cue a double step.

As a note, the steps like LDU LDU LDU are supposed to be a 'forced' doublestep with the mine under the arrow you are supposed to move your foot off of. Since the song repeats exactly in those portions (the exact same lyrics/pitch in Talli Hua, or just the exact same pitch in Miracle Meets), we made it so you would hit those in the exact same way. For instance, the LDU LDU LDU would be hit left-foot, right-foot, left-foot three times in a row. I feel that when used very sparingly, and when something very obviously repeats, it can be appropriate.

Also, thanks for taking the time to actually go through the pack. I don't care if you don't like most ITG fan packs (your choice, I suppose), but I just can't stand when people talk shit about something that they have never even bothered to look at.

Mirage Garden is such a sweet song, though. D: I love crazy jazz fusion metal stuff like that. I can definitely see being put off by a chart THAT technical (the song is some weird 17/16 or 15/16 time signature for quite a while, which leads to the 24th note bursts being yellow and teal a lot of the time), but I'm a fan of difficult stuff that isn't 100% straight forward.

That makes sense, I didn't think about it like that, and most of the time I play with MINES OFF, but I didn't pad-play any of these yet.

You have no idea what you're talking about with anything involving simfiles/sync/rhythm.

Electronized has a great and heavy bass line, I'm relatively easy to please.

Some sync fixes:

#MUSIC:Arcadian.ogg;
#OFFSET:0.008;
#BPMS:0=174.2,112=87.1,144=174.2,264=87.1,266=174.2,338=87.1,341.75=696.8,351=174.2;

#MUSIC:Electronized.ogg;
#OFFSET:0.009;
#BPMS:0=130;

#MUSIC:ForYou.ogg;
#OFFSET:0.010;
#BPMS:0=135;

#MUSICTongueresentiment.ogg;
#OFFSET:-5.613;
#BPMS:0=180;

#MUSIC:ResReplayer.ogg;
#OFFSET:0.006;
#BPMS:0=140;

I went ahead and changed the offset by -0.002 so that these will match ITG2AC R16+ (that's the difference from my PC and the arcade values). You should notice how my changes were small, thus why I stated earlier the sync was really good on these files. However if you really believe I don't know what I'm doing, then you should be concerned that your values line up extremely close to my values.
