Attention! Is there any ITG double players on the forum? Come here and chill and talk about how ITG changed your life and how awesome you were at playing Doubles on DDR back in the days 8) Maybe there some new player around?

Hahaha, you don't actually have to stop playing DDR doubles in order to play ITG doubles Puppy Face I love doubles mode whether it's ITG, DDR, or PIU. My favorite charts are ones like gentle stress D-Heavy, Stars Above D-Expert or Arirang FS that involve a lot of movement and stretches, and I play no-bar to get the most out of the cool patterns. My scores aren't exactly amazing, but that'll come with time.

I guess you could say I'm fairly new, because I've only been doing doubles on DDR and ITG for about a year, and PIU for about six months.

Greetings Telperion! Ah that's true Laughing Hard I must say I agree with you here. The "alot of movement" is what encourage me to play a lot of double as well. May it be with our without the bar. I think Reactor would fit just perfectly with the description apart from the really retarded stream in the end. I also like really fast crossover patterns like Trip Machine Phoenix 8)

Edit: For Just playing one year, what do you think was the most difficult thing to master so far? (In term of Double techniques)

Hey, I'm a doubles player. More so on DDR than ITG but I switch them up every so often. Been playing DDR in general for 3 years and doubles for about 1.2 years. Hardest songs I cleared on each are probably Euphoria on ITG and Paranoid -Respect- on DDR.

The trick I probably have the most trouble with are patterns that zip between the two pads rather quickly. Such as I can do 8th drills in -Respect- rather well but have trouble even in stuff like Across the Nightmare, which has simple quarters at the same speed but has a zipper type pattern that spans across all 8 pads for an extended period of time.

PIU doubles is still a little too above my skill level...

I really enjoy Reactor. I don't mind the 16th run, and the beginning is pretty fun. Trip Machine Phoenix still catches me a bit off guard, though Tongue

I'd say the most difficult thing about starting on doubles was knowing where I was on the pad. It took a while before I started hitting the arrows AND moving from one side to the other. After that, things were much easier...Probably the second hardest thing was learning how to do the long crossovers and backwards patterns.

been playing ITG doubles since the first ITG was new. i was VERY new to doubles at that time though and had just started playing medium/standard doubles so i didnt pass anything amazing for a while.

also, 5 posts and no one said habannera-1 expert? maybe i'm the only one that loves that chart. for fast zipping patterns, infection expert has its share, thats another of my favorites. also, for easy stuff, i really like the game hard. its just a fun chart.

I've been playing ITG double for a while, I've always been a fan of the more gimmicky stuff. You know, the charts that are really different from your average charts. Charts like Disconnected Disco, Bend Your Mind, Habanera 1, Reactor, and Cryosleep, just to name a few.

And I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I tend to like the Rebirth double charts more than the officials.

Hello n00b_saib0t! Well I spent one summer trying to pass 5-6 footers on easy so it does take time until you can proper pass something of higher difficulty. XD

Speaking of which did anyone practice on keyboard as well, like ITG pc or SM?

*I actually fell of the pad playing habanera doubles, it's a good chart tho :3

Yo King Of Light! If remember correctly, haven't you made some of the charts in rebirth? I might be mistaken tho. But I must agree with you, most of the charts in rebirth is of better quality. However sometimes I think the difficulty in rebirth is a little bit to high in average. Most 9s go on the border of 10 and 10 on 11 and so on. That given along with a lot of wide jumps and fast turn patterns across the pads. Maybe that's a trend I do not know.

From Rebirth I enjoy playing songs like Journey, it's a fitting song to play nobar as well. A song that I don't like is Reaf. Not the fact that it's difficult but more that it's doesn't sound that well. I've no problem to play difficult songs it's just if it sounds cool I get extra pumped playing like Blood Rush for example. I don't get that feeling with Reaf. Maybe it's just a matter of taste.

lol Asian Crosscounter D-Expert

But yeah, I really enjoy some of the Rebirth doubles charts, because they're not afraid to pull in some crazy ideas that ITG1 and 2 were afraid to. Stars Above, Dead Souls, TechLo, Ice Cold, Cherry Blossom Whirlwind, etc. Of course, I usually love the charts people hate on for being confusing or bizarre, but I'm way better at confusing stuff than speed.

(I think I'd like Asian Crosscounter tons more if I could actually pass it, but moving my center of mass around like that is much too hard right now, and I'll probably no-bar Arrabbiata before coming close to Asian Crosscounter Laughing Hard )

Hell yeah. I'm playing index (single or double) on itgpc.
My scores are low because i'm bad and my pc/keyboartd has a weird delay (like floating delay... so i can't adjust offset very well).
That's still a good way for me to pratice double because :
- I almost never plays itg (too far, cost too much money : travel/hotel/food/ect).
- On ddr, it' was always 2 tokens for me so that cost a lot if you want to pratice...
- Ddr is too far from me too now. So... T_T
- Playing on keyboard doesn't tired you unless you play for a long time or very very hard songs. Also, it's FREE Big Grin

I wish i could play more at the arcade but keyboard is almost my only way now.

Lol this reminds me what i tried yesterday. Played ReaF single on itgpc with volume at 0% but with the song "Amazing horse" in the background + singing. I did that for an other song right after.
Anyway, i know what you mean with "doesn't sound well".

Also, i wasn't sure at first. I trought you were the Criz that i saw on vieo cleared Chromatic Blitz double.
I still don't know if you are him or not (i know he is europeen too) but i saw some videos of you playig double and you are really good.
One question, did you came in France at least once ?

Me now...
I think my average level on double is mid-9. I still do a lot of mistakes, i need to move faster or understand some paterns better (some ddr paterns are weird ahah).
On keyboard it's hmm... it's low-14 i think. I cleared a "15" but it's so rare that i don't know if it's really a 15 or not.
Also, the other 15 that i know is the Zetorux's (joke chart or not) welcome to rainbow. Insane paterns and i can't pass this.

Talking about rebirth, i like Aurora double for exemple Smile
I'm not uber fan of things like "Stars above" or "Cryosleep" but it's maybe because that kind of moves are too hard for me.

Anyway, double is fun. I hope more and more people will try/play/compete on this mod.

You are not mistaken, I did write a decent portion of the Rebirth charts Smile

There's currently no release date, but we're currently working on Rebirth 2. So far I think the Double charts are better than Rebirth 1, so keep your eyes peeled for any info about it Wink

Hello PanStyle! That's correct, I was the one that passed Chromatic Blitz and I visited France twice. One time in Paris for the Highscore tournament and ones in Lyon for the Summer speed. Must say I had awesome time in France. Might go back there soon =). Did you visit those events? What was your name?

Regarding songs with difficult patterns, I think it took me like one year before I could master the Reactor patterns on a decent level. I think I played it like 300 times on keyboard to learn the chart by heart however the most difficult part as always is to actually hit the pads.

Wow! Show us some routines! 8) I used to freestyle too, although only on pump because it's the only game with decent charts for freestyling. I trained some breakdance/popping as well but quitted when I got a feet injury. I can still do some popping but I've heard time doing the powermoves as I'm not as flexible anymore =/
