Hi All,
I'm about to order a DDR Extreme but unfortunately this machine has not the original bios but a "single mix bootleg" as depicted here http://www.nogshot.com/ddrbase/guides/install_eeprom.html.
It seems, hardware wise, that I could run all previous mix (from 3rd to Extreme). I managed to find a place to order the original 700A01 Konami bootrom but I can't get my hand on the required CD's.
I've heard on this very forum that I would need specific CD's (patched to bypass security cartridge check), but I'm unable to find these anywere. Some people talk about the "usual place" but I have no clue :(
If someone would be able to point me in the right direction, and also confirm if my understanding of the situation is correct that would be very helpful.
Thanks in Advance,
Duke

Hi Duke,
I've sent you a PM to help you better understand what you need.
Also, to note - you won't be able to run 2ndMIX itself - it uses different hardware. However, every song from 2ndMIX is available on the Japanese version of 3rdMIX (under 2ndMIX mode when you press left left right right at the title screen), so it's no loss!
How much is your DDR Extreme machine costing you, and where are you getting it from, out of interest?

The boot ROM from a standard 573 (Hyper Bishi Bashi, Fisherman's Bait) will work. Otherwise, keep an eye on eBay (USA), the boot ROMs sometimes come up there.
I dare say it's possible to burn one from the MAME sys573 romset, but I've no experience with that.

Yes it will, but that's an expensive way to get a Konami 700A01 boot ROM. The ROM itself is only worth about £10.
