The "elitism" here is nothing compared to the elitism at a place like Pitchfork Media or AbsolutePunk.net (not rhythm gaming sites but still hugely elitist). Around here most people seem to give everyone a chance before making judgments about them. At Pitchfork and AP.net, if you don't like the bands Brand New, Arcade Fire, and Bright Eyes then you're pretty much going to become a laughing stock for all the site veterans.
Everyone here has had their dick moments, but it's not like this place is just a haven for negative trolls and assholes. I don't think I have ever had any personal problems with anyone here.

Elitism comes from users, not from whole communities. That said, there's a rating system here for that.
