The title say's it all.
I've googled this and what I've seen are walls and walls of text and no images which is really hard to learn
exactly, how do you do the "Afronova Walk"?

APPEND: Tyma did a fine job a few posts down. Watch that one.

What IS your interpretation?

I think it's:
1st crossover:
left (left foot)
up (right foot)
right (left foot)
2nd crossover:
left (right foot)
down (left foot)
right (right foot)
then repeat
edit:
just checked the Afronova simfile
the crossovers look like this:

You're correct about that. Later on in Afronova itself, there's a couple partial walks that follow similar patterns.

Can you do this:
Up Right Down Up Left Down Up Right Down Up Left Down?
Good!
Do that same pattern except turn to the left. Afronova walk!

that's the same pattern when I turn left

My interpretation is the arrow positions when I turn in front of the screen

1. Turn to the left.
2. Do a "Kick The Can run."
3. Learn to sing along with the song. <= THERE'S the hard part. ;)
(And actually, the crossovers before that can be hectic to learn, too. Turn right during the first part, and left during the second, which should set you up for the rest of that pattern perfectly.)

I always shadow it off-pad because I believe it's one of the most awesome patterns in DDR but when I go to do it, I double-step like an idiot.

Yes, turn to face the left and tackle the first step with your left foot, alternating feet through the whole thing.
That's sometimes easier said than done in a 200bpm song, so to practice, do the oni chart for the song called "Dance Dance Revolution", as it's comprised almost entirely of step patterns from classic DDR tunes, and the Afronova Walk is in there. It's only 150bpm, so it's easier to pull off in that one.
Once you get it down in that song, just do it faster.

I noticed a good way to do this walk was to not even look at the screen. Just look at your feet and you should do fine. Well, it works for me anyways.... XD
