Extra Stage and Encore Extra Stage on SN2

I actually googled it but nothing came up. . . the title says it all,

My question is:
should I AA a Random song in order to get to an Extra Stage and an Encore Extra Stage or not? It just bugs me that I never got an Extra Stage when my ranking in 3 stages were:

Kind Lady : A (full combo)
Sexy Planet (nonstop megamix) : A (full combo)
Afronova (nonstop megamix) : AA (full combo)

Note that I didn't pick "Random function" or the "Roulette function" in one stage

Don't you have to AA a particular song on SN2 to get extra stage ? (this sucks...).

I believe the way to get an extra stage on SN2 is to AA the Heavy or Oni chart of a song highlighted in red (specific boss songs), or to AA a random - roulette - song on Heavy (or Oni, if you're feeling super adventurous). Repeat for Encore Extra.

I have a feeling you can AA a boss or roulette song on any difficulty, to get the Extra Stage..

I remember trying it on a couple times without any luck :/

Also note that what I said above is in reference to your Final Stage.

I think it's :

1) Get an A on any song, on any difficulty, during the 4th Stage, to unlock Boss Songs on the Final Stage.

2) AA any of the boss songs (or a roulette song) on the same difficulty you played for the 4th Stage, to get the Extra Stage

3) AA the Extra Stage (whatever song it gives you) on the same difficulty, to get the OMES

You can't cheat the system by playing 4 Heavy songs, and then dropping down to basic for the Final, Extra and OMES, just for the sake of getting another 6 minutes of playtime. You have to do the whole thing on one difficulty.

Here's how to get Extra Stage and Encore Stage in Supernova 2.

Assuming Max Unlock code is in:

Make at least an A on your first or second song (any difficulty).
On your third stage, the boss songs should appear in red. If true, AAing any of the boss songs on any available difficulty will get you an extra stage. Otherwise, you can choose a random HEAVY song (no, Challenge will NOT work) and AA it.

On Extra Stage, your previous settings will remain (watch those speed mods!). To get an Encore Extra stage, you must choose either a red Boss Song (any difficulty) or Random again (Heavy only).

Enjoy Encore stage

Note: On Encore/ES, you can modify your difficulty.

I'll try doing that sometime, I though that you don't need to use the "Random function" because it's worthless but now I'm starting to understand it's worth

1. Stage 2 has to be "A" or better. This will highlight the boss songs in red, according to the difficulty you played on:

or = <=THERE lies your problem. You played Final Stage on instead. ;)

NOTE: If you "A" or better BOTH stages 1 and 2 on different difficulties, you can elect to play either one as your Final Stage.

2. With the boss songs red, you can score Extra Stage one of two ways:

Choose a boss song of the corresponding difficulty, and AA it.
Choose a random/roulette song of the corresponding difficulty and AA it.

You play the Extra Stage with an Challenge Mode lifebar, depending on the score you got in Final Stage:

950,000 = one OMES life
965,000 = two OMES lives
970,000 = three OMES lives
990,000 = four OMES lives (IE: AAA)

3. Survive and AA the Extra Stage under the same conditions, and you get the OMES. Your difficulty is then locked on the appropriate level, and you're free to pick whatever song, on do-or-die terms. Win it and you get the special ending!

lol yeah, just be careful with your speed mod selection. I've played tons of randoms using 3x and then have had some raunchy 300-400 bpm 10 come up. Oops lol
