I created this thread as a forum for people to share BGChange scripts for Stepmania. I'll be putting them all into this archive (http://www.filefront.com/17188477/Stepmania BGChanges 2010-08-09.zip). Right now it has everything from 1stMIX to Extreme, and will be updated periodically. With your help, I'm interested in what else we could do.

I was thinking of creating this as well but using ddr ultramix background changes.... do you know how to get the backgrounds from the game itself?

Yes, I would love to have some Ultramix scripts. As for how to record the videos themselves, I would do the following:
1) Connect your XBox console to your computer through a recording cable (RCA/S-Video to USB).
2) Record yourself playing the song, once on each side (P1/P2).
3) In a video editing program, cut out the side with the arrows for each side.
Results may vary.
But unless there are video clips that haven't been released yet, we just need to write the scripts. The video clips themselves are available in a bumper pack on DDRUK.

Wait, I'm confused about this... o.0 So basically, rather than having a bland background, there's going to be the actual background that goes with the song?
For versions 1-5th mix, will they have their own? Same with 6-whenever?
And club mix?
I'm sorry, this is a bit confusing for me. >_>

Allow me to explain. This pack is a collection of background video scripts for songs appearing in the Max and Extreme games, including revival songs. Scripts only, the actual videos are available in a separate pack in DDRUK's downloads section (look under user-submitted files). In addition, I'm also including original scripts of my own and from anyone else who wishes to post them - please do so, by the way.
As for 1st through 5thMIX, those games use a different style for their backgrounds; animated images instead of movies. So far these have not been ripped or recorded, nor am I aware of any plans to do so in the forseeable future.
