Crazy! I went to a PE teacher's conference recently and my lunch time was enlivened by the I Dance stand! Any one know anything about it? I had a go and it had some ITG tunes on there; basically it was a stepmania/ITG port. I read the materials and it mentioned a company called 'Positive Gaming' which I'm sure is something to do with a guy who posts/used to post on DDRUK. I'm all muddled, but I knew this community would have anwers!

What's the background to this?

So your school is one out of THOUSANDS to get the I Dance program across huh? Congrats

Michelle Obama created the "Let's Move" program to help kids of all schools get motivated to "move", ONE of these involved DDR into the program, not to mention that Konami has partnered with the NASCP to introduce Walk It Out and DDR to schools ALL across the United States.

Although, since you live in the UK, the program over there would more than likely be the I Dance since it is a DDR simulator that allows for more than 30 people to play along side each other. It's pretty much made JUST for PE classes too.

You should ask the person leading/coordinating the program to see how they got it, what equipments they have, and to see if you can co-operate with helping them "increase" their variety (ex. DDR games, ITG games, etc.)

iDance (lol) is basically Kyle Ward's new project IIRC, since he's not working PUI anymore. One of my friend's mother is having this fitness center in Stockholm, and they were one the first to get iDance. Even though it looks good overall it just feels as if they took someones /Songs/-folder and pasted it in to the actual game. There's stuff like Air in it, I mean, aren't we all a bit tired of those yet?
Overall, it's a cool game, with it's own unique engine, which supports 3D features and stuff like that, but you can tell that it's aimed towards the fitness audience. They've even said that they have planned an Arcade release of iDance, but it was said to be released in 2009, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see the future of this dancing game.

Speaking of having DDR in the PE curriculum (which my school district that I attended and now work for them has incorporated DDR in PE) we have family fun and fitness night in which we have 4 class rooms that are set up for DDR and I've asked and took the liberty of giving them a copy of my DDR PS2 memory card files this way I would save them the headache of unlocking all the songs, so now all songs are available right off the bat. Now If I could get my computer updated and what not or buy another computer and have SM loaded onto it and let them borrow it for the FF&F nights.
