I'd like to see a minimalist site theme. My main computer is several years old, so even when the site has finished loading, it's very slow to respond to scrolling and such. (this only became a problem ~4 months ago)
So would it be feasible to make a theme that doesn't have stuff like the clock and the countdown, and other things that might contribute to that problem?

I agree with this. It would also help with say people that are on game consoles such as the Wii just so some people dont run into the "out of memory" message when there are a multitude of other memory hogging material on a thread...

The upcoming mobile site should be able to sort that, but don't expect me to port over all the features as that would take a long time.
