Solo 4th plus, considering dumping 5th on it, should I? anybody ever added a bar to a machine before? not one of those pads with the bar

Does it have the nonstop songs? The simfiles are missing some of the charts.

I don't think so, solo 4th plus = 4th plus with not much changed, other than added solo charts, unless I am missing something

Haha, coincidentally, mute posted on r21freak that his friend finally got a 4th Solo set up in his house, after getting it a couple months ago.
I don't know how to help with your problems, but I think you should play the solo charts to death before putting something else on the machine. Why not enjoy a play mode that is very hard to find anywhere?
(No fair pointing out my lack of solo play videos when I have CFs)

Get a spare 573 and load up "Solo Max2".
Also the Solo bar is bent at the top, so a normal straight bar from the full DDR cabs won't work unless a) the screw mounts are compatible and b) you want to lean back VERY far. xP
Btw, if you want to hook up a J-PAC or something for Stepmania to run, remember that the Player 2 start pin is always tied to ground (ie, held in).

SOLO 4thMIX PLUS was the last "real" solo mix; all the others after that are bootleg hacks, and so don't have 6 panel mode. Also, you can't just install other mixes on it, the pad control mapping is very different (and as Mercury says, 2P start is always on - if using a JPAC just remap the key away).
If you are lucky, maybe one day you'll be able to install Solo 2000 on it... NOW WHO DAT IS?
One day I'll mod my doubles cab to have solo arrows, too

Don't know if I'll be ever using a JPAC, so I doubt that'll happen, sorry 
By 5th, I meant the solo 5th mix, which I assume would work fine since it was modded to work solo? (as in no little glitches with the 2P start button, sensors working right, etc.)
