URL auto-generation

URL's don't automatically turn themselves into clickable hyperlinks here for some reason. Think you could fix that?

You have to embed it into the text. You see the smliies on the right of the text box, right? You will also see there are buttons to turn your words into bold, italics and so on.

The one that says link turns the url into a clickable link.

Example:


Clicking on the "link button" will give you the following:
(url=URL]Name[/url]

Then you type the url after the equal sign or paste the url. And you type the name of the website where it says name so that it doesn't show the whole url.
(url=http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/index.php]Z-I-v's Homepage[/url]

And it should look like this:
Z-I-v's Homepage

Of course, you have to use brackets instead of parentheses. I just replaced the first bracket so that it shows what you get.

If you just want to paste the url without giving it a name just delete the equal sign and the "URL" after it and paste the link over the "Name"

It's called ease of use silenttype. It's simpler and easier to just paste in a URL and have the software add the tags. Lirodon knows the tags are required, but wants them to not be. That's why I didn't make a post like yours.

If you're running Firefox, you can always grab Linkification for auto URL parsing. Too many links will slow things down, but it's gotten better nowadays.

It's a nice idea though, wouldn't go amiss if it's not too hard to implement.

Seems to be working for now. The pattern matching I have to come up with is rather ugly though.
