I can't beat the freaking mission where you can't hit the down arrow on My My My! IT'S SO EASY BUT I ALWAYS SCREW UP!!!

A good method is to tape some paper over the down arrow column. Or you can print out the stepchart, scratch out the down arrows with whiteout, and play by reading the stepchart. Just don't get too into the music as you'll drop your guard and wind up hitting a down arrow.

And if you're wondering, that mission has a secret arrow: which is a down arrow.

That was one of the hardest missions in DMM if you don't know how to get with the beat of the song.
Just keep trying,sing the song if that helps in anything. That's what I did and I cleared it.

Do you mean the I Will Survive mission, in which you can't hit down arrows, or MyMyMy, where you can't hit 4th notes?

I never could do either one. In fact, I just skipped most of DMM and unlocked all the songs through Free Play hours (which is why I didn't try hard ).

DMM isn't even as tough as UM2's Challenge Mode.


Someone should hit 2009 posts on December 31 and wait until January 1 to post again.

Yeah, I racked up 24 tries on C-31 (I Will Survive, no hitting down). It's rough, because you have to not hit down, and you have to have good timing to keep your life bar up. Hitting the secret arrow silenttype01 mentioned won't make you fail, IIRC.
D-34 (My My My, don't hit 4ths, get Perfect or Great for others) took me 14 tries. I think I had a bigger problem with hitting at the wrong time and getting an NC than not hitting the 4ths. The rhythm complexity at the end of the song makes it rough.

This was with a controller too, since at the time I was pissed at my soft pads for keeping me from AAA Look At Us because of the down arrow not registering at one point because of how my weight was positioned. I swear, 3 times in a row, I got all perfects, and one miss, at the same spot every time, due to the stupid pad. I think that was around 20ish plays of that mission. After that, I ordered my CF pair and switched to controller. I then racked up 62 total plays on that mission before I AAA'ed it and unlocked the secret mission.

I never did finish DMM. Still a couple spots in Area D and most of area E that I can't do.

Dancing Stage Max, Mission E-08 or something was an evil bitch. Michael Expert. Get 7,000,000 points or more, but you can't get any higher than a 10 combo. Took me over 200 tries. Stuck on 6.9m for ages. And yeah, completed all of it now, woo.

I don't know how to go to D-35 Sync (For extreme). Can someone tell me how to go there?

I can't recall if I used my pad or controller for that one but I don't remember it causing me too much trouble. I think I did it by hitting just before or behind the arrow to score a Good or Almost so I could break the combo but not lose too many points.

I'm actually still stuck on DMM somewhere around section D. I think it's Kung Fu Fighting where the arrows disappear, is that hidden or stealth? Anyway I don't mind sudden because I can read the arrows fairly quickly as they come but remembering the sequence as they vanish always catches me off guard because of my lousy memory.
I think I was also stuck on the These Words mission where you can't hit red arrows because of the game picking up my attempts to hit blues and yellows as reds...

I've also recently hit a wall with Arrabbiata on SuperNOVA 2's Hyper mode-thing. Even with the controller, heck with frigging ASSIST modules as well, I still struggle like hell on that mission.

...any tips?

What I did was I set the stepchart as my desktop background and turned my icons off.

Turn off 8ths, use Judge 6, and improve your timing. That's what I did. Turning off 8ths drops how high you can score, but Judge 6 can more than make up for it if you get perfects consistently enough.

I was going to suggest reconfigging your button settings so that the down arrow is somewhere unobtrusive. Or there's my method of tearing into your pad and pulling the wire off of the controller. *grins sheepishly*
