How good are you at beatmaniaIIDX?

At IIDX RED, I can reach up to 7 DAN Singles and 9 DAN Doubles; reason for my Doubles skill to be higher than Singles would be because I play 1 handed in Single play, hindering my ability to reach the higher Single DANs.

To give you an idea ... I can pass Scorpion Fire at 14KEYS mode and quasar 7KEYS mode; for more just visit my VJA page.

Well, I am able to pass 1-10 Stars songs Two Handed while I am also able to pass 1-11 Star songs One Handed.

I currently suck at Doubles. =)

As for Daninintei, I can generally go up to 7-Dan...only once (on 10th style) have I gone to 8-Dan.
I can only play on the 1P side efficiently (this is excluding Doubles).

I really suck at this game, lol. Then again, I've only played it 3 times and all I have is BMUS.
On 5-key I'm still trying to pass The Shining Polaris (but I did clear V somehow, I think those were both on 5-key), and on 7-key I mostly play 1's and 2's. THE CUBE is still a little too hard for my one-handed skills, and ska a go go is freakin impossible.

*sweatdrop* Yeah, I kinda figured that! I'll have to slow it all the way down or something.
But yeah, I like playing 1-handed so my right hand is free to scratch; I'm not going out of my way to open it up and lube it like on (I think) itgfreak.com, so using my pinky is probably out of the question.

I just leave the turntable alone, as it loosens up over time anyway ... isn't the arcade turntables supposed to have a bit of friction?

I just got the game about a week ago (english version of beatmania because I was too cheap/lazy to import the game before), so I'm working on 4's right now. I've got a long way to go...

Finally did 8th Dan on Happy Sky with 8% left

Guess that makes me 8 DAN SP / - DP? (lol thx Alan)

I still have awhile to go, but now that school's out for the holidays I actually have time to play! I'm steadily improving, but quick changes from white to blue still throw me for a loop. My one-handed style for 7-key is to spread out four fingers over the whites; I'll only return my hand to 5-key style in places I remember there being few arrows for a certain part (i.e. no rapid place-changing for me).

Also I found a good chord-practice song in jelly kiss Normal. It's a 4, a bit above my level but not with some practice; I got like 73% gauge my second try. That part near the end has me going all "AHHH!" but halfway through, my mind shifted to PIU mode and reminded me to pay more attention to the colors.

Several times, actually. Now if only MGS Main Theme had 7-key charts... gah, both those songs are amazing.
But yeah, I'm playing 3's and 4's so far.

EDIT2: Hey! I just thought of something amazing - I'm gonna try practicing with my other hand only. All those years playing the piano can't be for naught.

Been playing 9 months and just cleared 10th dan on Happy Sky. I suck horribly at AAA'ing anything over a 5 though... I haven't even touched 14keys.

Darn, I have yet to clear 7-Dan...I came so close once, but that was because Aurora [H] drained alot of Groove Gauge....once I clear 8-Dan someday this (or next) year, I'll be content because I get the final unlockable noteburst.

Well, I'm strictly one-handed. You do not want to see me two handed, 5.1.1 Normal, E! Yeah, I'm that bad.

Anyway, I can AA/A 95% of songs up to the 8* level. 8*'s and above are still givin' me some trouble, but practice practice PRACTICE!

The weird thing about my play style is that even though I play one-handed, I only use four fingers. I can't stand using my thumb because it never wants to hit the button. Becuase that's my play style, it's a HECK of a lot harder to get better. You should watch my hand when I play songs like Abyss (THM)/Please Don't Go/etc., my hands goin' all over the place, even though I'm hittin' the notes.

Also, I don't have a second controller, so I haven't tried doubles, I probably wouldn't be that bad though.

So many one-handed players...I feel a bit off being two handed. I can do maybe half the 10's, but I'm not too farmiliar with much background history in IIDX. I've only played RED and HS CS and BMUS.

And I don't have another controller either, so I've never played doubles.
