Do you say the real way you're supposed to pronounce it or do you just say it numerically?

I say (dot) fifty-nine Tongue

Now that i think of it...the Japanese numbers somewhat make sense:

573..."Five" in Japanese is go, changed to the voiceless form ko; "7" in Japanese is nana shortened to na; "3" in Japanese is mittsu, shortened to mi; "573" = ko-na-mi...//

Maybe I'm looking into it too much...//

7 is shichi

3 is san

73 might be what you say though.

"Secret Agent"
7 in Japan = Shici or Nana.

Same with 4 = Shi or Yon or Yo and 9 = Kyu or Ku.

when I speak about this song I usually refer to it as the "heaven" song. But that's probably because I know the song from IIDX and where this is suggested. But no one in this country ever heard/played the song so either if I call it "heavy"or "fifty-nine" it doesn't really matter.

wonder how many people would get what song I mean if I would refer to it as heaven as I usually do.

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana"
3 is usually "san" but is read as "mi" when it's used in some counters and words.

For example, 三日 means "three days" or "the third day of the month" and is read "mikka".

Seven is usually either "nana" or "shichi", but I believe "na" is used in some words with the Kanji for 7, or 七. I struggle to think of any on the top of my head.

Go is five, but I don't think "ko" is ever used for 5. IIRC, it's the "ko" in Konami because...

ご=go in Hiragana
こ=ko in Hiragana

So they just remove the ten-ten lol.

How about: Nanoka (七日 = the 7th of a month).

On topic: I call it tengoku ("heaven" woud work - it's the literal translation of 天国). I used to call it "point five nine."

In that case, isn't the reading for the 七 part of the word "nano", instead of just "na"?

"proud to be #2400"
Before I knew what it referred to, I called it "(dot) fifty-nine". Now I call it by Tengoku and the former is reserved for comedy.
