"Crybabies unite~ ♡" |
Hope you've had a happy Valentine's Day, everyone. I have a story for you.
TW: Sexual Harassment
I was at Union Station in Toronto, Ontario this evening, at around 8:30 PM. I was making my way to the subway system, when a stranger came up to me to ask me if I knew where the nearest LCBO was. The dialogue went something like this.
The stranger: "Excuse me, miss, but do you happen to know where the LCBO is?"
Me: "I know there's one just north of the subway station in the PATH, but I'm not sure whether or not it's open. I can check that, or other places, for you."
*I pull out my phone to search for the LCBO.*
The stranger: "You know, miss, you're so cute. I'd buy you a drink at the LCBO if you'd like."
Me: "Thank you, but that is very much unnecessary. I don't have time for that. I have to get going, and I'm not planning on drinking tonight, either."
The stranger: "But... you know, it's Valentine's Day! I wanted to share my heart with a really cute lady like you!"
Me: "I don't mean to turn you down, but I *really* have to go. I have people waiting for me."
The stranger: "Then what's your phone number? I'll save it and I'll give you mine."
Me: "Sorry, but I don't want it, and I need to be on my way."
*I start walking away towards the subway*
*The stranger paces in front of me to give me a surprise kiss on the lips*
*I get a knee-jerk reaction, causing me to shut my eyes tight and clench my lips, shoulders raised*
The stranger: "Miss, the face you made was so cute when I kissed you. You sure you don't want my number?"
Me: "No. I have to go!"
*I start sprinting faster and away from his sight*
I made it safely to the subway and stayed alert in case the stranger also walks down to the same platform.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Regardless of whether or not you find attention like this validating, I find it gross and unpleasant.
What is *not* important here:
- My gender identity
- My gender expression (clothing, mannerisms, etc.)
- The stranger's gender
- What day it was today
- Where I was today
- Whether the stranger and I found each other attractive
What *is* important here:
- The fact that the stranger violated my personal space
I wish all of you stay safe. Love you all.

That's fucking horrifying. People like that should be buried underneath the goddamn prison. I've been flat out sexually assaulted before and I feel like it never stops sticking with you, so I'm glad you're okay (as well as you can be after that)

I remember you talking about getting grabbed by a girl without consenting to it. That was really awful, and this sort of thing really lasts. I was far, far more alarmed and shocked the first time I had someone not leave me alone, and while it happened more than 6 years ago, I still haven't forgotten the incident. So yes, you're absolutely right...

I'm so sorry that happened to you. The only thing I would've done differently is called 911, or whatever the Canadian equivalent is.

just really wishing i could find some medications that work for me because i'm getting so sick of the neverending anger and misery that these pills are actively providing at this point. not a big fan of my doctor also being increasingly difficult to get a hold of in regards to adjusting my medication or...anything, really!!

Another Konami number appeared while editing in Audacity, so it's time for another Timestamp Contest! If you can guess what song this is based on the timestamp alone, you get the opportunity to help me step it!
I will let you know that this is a mainstream hit. And yes, that is the length of the entire song.

I can't wait until the Round 1 opens near my house (it might take another year or more). I know that "wait your turn" is part of rhythm gaming culture but it would be nice to go play at odd hours and be able to practice and unlock songs as much as I want.

That's what I had been doing at my decently close Round 1, and then it closed in 2020 and I've played DDR one time since then.
