So earlier today, I was unloading groceries with my parents and sisters. I just walked into my yard. The gate was wide open and I noticed my dog running outside for no real reason and turn the corner. I couldn't stop him because my hands were full of groceries.
At that moment, my reaction was:

Sure enough, a moment later, I hear a car slamming on the brakes, someone yelling OH MY GOD, and my dog running back into the yard limping.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong per se. He's just bleeding. That doesn't stop my sisters from panicking. I tell my parents to take the dog to the vet but they gave me a list of reasons why not.
He should be fine. There doesn't seem to be anything broken.
...
So... have any pets? Have any pets with a "large capacity of intellect"?

Dogs were meant to be run over. Trying to prevent it is an exercise in futility. Don't worry though, they deserve it for being pointlessly noisy and shitting everywhere, and frightening little school children that have to walk by to get to school.
PS: I was one of the last group, if you can't tell.

Our bird apparently enjoys Nine Inch Nails because you can't give this little she-monster any food without it attacking you.

I'm in both of those groups. Then again, it is my pet.
There are days when he pisses me off to no end but overall he's nice to have around. I'm not worried about it but watching a limping dog is disheartening and somewhat less threatening, as his main purpose is to guard the house.
