I learnt how to play without the bar. This may explain why my PA's a bit meh. Thing is, I can clear loads of stuff barless (FAXX Heavy's probably the hardest I can clear, and only just!), I just have to use the bar when I PA. It works to an extent (on something like HONEY PUNCH, I can drop it from 22g to around 7-8g), but my AAA count is rather...low.
I don't play for grades. I'm content with getting an A

i don't use the bar, only for the hardcore stuff like FAXX on Expert or pretty much any song that is above the 300bpm range (not Posiedon ,i can do that without the bar). It just really dpends how well the player shifts their body weight or how well their stamina is while playing the game...i think as of right now, my stamina has lowered because i haven't been up to shape =( but a few DDR songs might change that around =)

Using the bar to clear a 10-footer like "MAX 300" is one thing. That's what I've done. But the worst use of it I can remember was "My Favorite Things" on Beginner (level 1).

Why were you using the bar on Beginner?

I want my own place, so I can hang a bar from the ceiling, and bolt a pad to the ceiling. Then play upside down, using the bar. A good reason to use the bar on a 1 or 2.

Well, bar was created only for if you are a lot exhausted in the song, use it, but someone playing standard with bar means he don't have enough condition
I only use the bar in 10-footer
Crash is not that fast.
I play Max 300, The Legend of Max, Maxx Unlimited, Paranoia Survivor, Paranoia Survivor Max in 1.5x, except Sakura, in x1 (bag x5 )

"...but where's MY machine" |
I have issues using the bar. I'm just not used to it. The only time I consistently use the bar is when trying to pass NGO at the arcade. (Haven't yet, but will keep trying...!) =D
I don't have issues with people who use the bar, however. It kinda pisses me off if they're grabbing onto it for dear life and hopping up and down while trying to pass a two-footer song, but hey, whatever. As long as they're not messing up the pads they're good in my book.
Oh, and for spins. I'll touch the bar for a second during spins to keep my balance. But that's it. =)

It's actually there for safety purposes, which means if you're losing balance and you're about to fall off. Konami didn't intend for people to use it as a crutch during hard songs, but it's not like they're going to rush to your location and eject you if you do.Post #49 · Posted at 2008-08-15 11:00:57pm 15.7 years ago

Maximizing the potential of all resources provided is my motto.
But when it comes to using the bar, I used it when I first learn how to play on a pad; then it faded away. It comes back when I need to practice a new song or a new difficulty. I don't feel like failing a game while paying like 2 bucks for it.
I sometimes still use it when playing familiar songs just to get better score and see how much I can do with it, or I am just dead tired.
