Not really, no.
I just don't see this happening.
It's been thrown about a lot, but they can't do something that would severely upset the whole internet community.

This is extremely unlikely, because if this is the case people will boycott whatever company does this.
Some other company will open their own connection and people will flock to it.
And if anything succeeds in happening, it will be fought extensively.
It's completely unrealistic, and there's no true proof cited.

If they had more evidence, then there might be a little bit of worry =P But for now it seems it's just a bunch of paranoid conspiracists.

It's a conspiracy, Just like Global warming and all of that other crap.
I've herd rumors of the Government (Oh boy
) working on "Internet 2", with power going around Gigs a second. But this is the 1st I've herd of getting rid of the internet.
All I know is it's a series of tubes.

I'm not saying Global warming can't happen, It's just really unlikely.
But that's just me.
All the things we are doing to help the environment is good, with or with out Global Warming.

Hmm...really? I think global warming exists...even if it was, which I certainly don't believe, I don't really think you can put it on the same level of unlikeliness as "the end of the internet".Post #13 · Posted at 2008-07-23 06:21:20am 16.9 years ago

Wait, what?I didn't actually know that people thought global warming was a conspiracy.
You've obviously never watched Fox News.
And yeah, I highly doubt that the whole thing is a conspiracy. I believe in it, though I think it's being overblown a bit. I can't wait for the day I can drive into LA and actually see blue sky. And basically, the way Oil is now, it would be much better to actually look to renewable resources, so it's pretty much win-win when you do it the right way.

Do you believe this?

No. I don't believe it. What I believe will happen if this does happen though, all the internet freaks will gang up and sue the people who did this, and get the internet back.

Global warming is not a conspiracy. It's a planetary cycle. Global cooling closely follows it.
It's just being cashed in on by political figures like Al Gore. There is NOTHING wrong with trying to go green and remove pollution, but making it expensive to milk the fears is absolutely disgusting.
The reason why global warming has gotten so big is psychological. If you think about when you were young, gas prices were a lot lower, right?
Well now it's changed quite a bit, and you'll always think about the way things used to be. This is how it is for them. They remember their childhood and how it was and look at today and think that the entire world has changed just for them because you can only have such a length of perspective for being on the earth for so long.
I've heard, though I'm not sure if it's true, that a single volcano produces more greenhouse gases than humans do in a century. I wouldn't doubt it, the truth is volcanoes produce a LOT of it.
So what's Al Gore gonna do? Try to tax us to save mother earth by plugging up mother earth's volcanoes?
It's just gonna keep going until global cooling sets in. >_>
Once again, going green is cool. Paranoia over such a simple and fairly predictable phenomenon is not helping.

Global warming is a natural part of the earth's cycle guys.
Now human-caused global warming, that's a different story.

Er...that's not how scientists think.
I mean, I agree with some of what you said, but come on now.

It's not by the smart ones, but which ones are the politicians gonna showcase?
The ones that will show their point. It's all selective.
