For ITG2, I would rather see ITG3 preview music as encore-only music, like Hasse Mich Expert. I mean, if you're considering the DDR-style EES where you're out if you miss one, then Energizer and Vertex² are too hard. Hasse Mich is just about as hard as a challenging EES should be.

An alternative would be Frozen Fire, which is also tough.

Wouldn't the the equivalent of a DDR-style EES with Sudden Death be to use "Dream to Nightmare"?
After all, SN1 used "Chaos", which required you to memorize every step of the song to pass it on EES.


If ITG had Extra Stage, the announcer afterwards would say, "You showed us the ultimate groove! Can't stop panting, buckets of sweat!"

Interesting, I always wanted to see DDR recieve a cardinal gate system too. Something I noticed is that your system is linear, which is more like VIP Room isn't it? I thought Cardinal Gate was where you pick from any of the four songs for extra stage.

For at least 2 songs, the player must either get a * on any song, or get simply an A+ or higher if the song is a 12 or higher.

Cardinal Gate:
Song 1: Frozen Fire
Song 2: Hyper Hyper
Song 3: Pink Fuzzy Bunnies
Song 4: Dream to Nightmare
Song 5: Disconnected Hardkore

Cardinal Gate Encore Extra Round
Song 1: Hasse Mich (the 13 chart) / (get S grade or higher on at least 3 of the songs)
Song 2: VVV / (get S grade or higher on all 5 songs)


It wouldnt have Sudden Death for EES obviously, all extra stages would be like IIDX's Hard Modifier where it has a weighted lifebar.

That's exactly what Cardinal Gate is. There is no VIP room involved.

speaking of ITG2, is konami ever going to finish it? or is it just for the stepmania? someone wanna enlighten me. I mean if there already making ITG3, then I don't understand.

Roxor was in the middle of producing both ITG2 for PS2 and ITG3 for Arcade. After Konami recieved the rights to ITG after a lawsuit with Roxor, Konami put an end to both games.

So, Roxor still allowed by Konami to make next ITG or prohibited ?

I don't think we know about that, but since we haven't seen a trace of a new official ITG, I'm pretty sure konami decided to let it die.

Stepmania's take on ITG EXTRA STAGE.

In The Groove:

Extra Stage: Pandemonium

Encore Extra Stage: Infection

Granted, Stepmania is a bit insane with calling Pandemonium an extra stage but we could consider it if it happened in the DDR/ITG machine of our imaginations.

I don't know about ITG2 because I don't have SM 3.95 (or whatever SM that uses Rolls) and I don't feel like going through all of the charts here, changing certain freezes to rolls. Whatever SM chooses to be ES/EES could be affected by rolls.

I can guess that Vertex^2 or Summer ~speedy mix~ will be ES. If it's VV, then I have no chance in Hell figuring out the EES. O.O

I don't like the idea of Stepmania's take. I arranged the songs for the ES/EES system like the IIDX system. (Hard Song For ES, Harder song for EES)

If there isn't a .crs file in the directory to control the ES and EES, then SM just picks the highest foot rating song for ES. I'm not sure what it uses as a tie breaker. I don't know how it picks EES either.

OMES, I think, is determined by chaos in the song. Granted, I never passed SM's choice for ES, so I'm not sure.

EES ssems to be the hardest 8-footer when I play stepmania. I knew it cause when I played stepmania it chose PHades on Oni for ES, and Witch Doctor (GTV) on Hard for EES.
