Hi everyone,
I built a lightweight browser rhythm game that overlays arrows on top of YouTube videos and lets you play directly in the browser using a keyboard, controller, or USB dance pad.
It’s meant as a quick, accessible experiment rather than a replacement for dedicated simulators. The idea is to make it possible to jump into a song instantly, even when there aren’t charts available. The game supports .sm/.ssc chart files and also can generate some level of playable charts on the fly.
I’d really value feedback from pad players, especially around timing, input feel, and whether this makes sense at all for pad play.
You can check the chrome extension here for more details and to install:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/dancejump-for-youtube-rhy/hhdeflibphdghcpblkekakmbennfcaci
Also available for
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dancejump-for-youtube/
And Edge: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/dancejump-for-youtube-r/kjcikodgaapodnjkhhmaobbkcbacleok
Thanks for reading, and happy to answer questions.
