So there are three possibilities I am exploring: either I'm getting old, something is wrong with my posture while playing, or I'm just out of practice. I can't seem to go for more than 5 or so minutes at a time without excruciating soreness in my lower back. I have come out of a year-long pad hiatus just a few weeks ago, which I'm sure isn't helping at all. I would chalk this up purely to being out of practice, but I have no issues with stamina or any other muscles getting too sore to continue. And it sucks, because I like playing stamina charts, but I can't get to the point of actually challenging my stamina if my stone age-ass lumbar keeps preventing me.
Yes, the obvious answer is to ask my doctor about it. Yes, I'm going to do that. But I want to get opinions from any other long-time players if they've experienced this after a hiatus, and how they got over it. Did the pain eventually go away just by re-training? Does the pain have an end? A purpose?
