Who here plays CCR and how good are you at it? XD
I can get an AA's on most 10 footers and an A on the hardest ones.
Unfortunately, I have this problem where I use my right thumb for up and right and the other for down and left and have a hard time pressing any other buttons with another thumb other than what was listened.
My timing also leaves a lot to be desired.
Trying to break the habit though. ;)
By the way, CCR stands for Controller Controller Revolution which is DDR with a controller if you are still completely puzzled at the moment.

I've passed every some, my lowest mark was a B. I have trouble with crossovers though.

That's how I play now. I also do that to sight-read
The only reason why I play with controller now is because it's too much of a hassle to set up the pads and to put them away when I'm done playing.

^Too much of a hassle!? Come on! I can't believe you. Why not just find an area that you can keep em' out? I did.

Easy. I can do pretty much anything on controller. The only songs I have grades below AA's would be Pluto Relinquish, FELMO, and DEAD END (GR SPECIAL).

I've played CCR, and the buttons aren't that easy to press. You have to put twice as much effort into pushing a key on a controller than you do pressing an arrow on a keyboard. There's also the matter of keeping that analog stick out of the way.
Me too. My mind associates different rhythms with different timings, making ghost stepping ineffective. I so need ghost stepping to get around tough gallops.

I swear, I'll *never* understand people who just use their thumbs for games where hitting multiple buttons at the same time is key. I mean, seriously, why make it harder on yourself? You don't play Stepmania on keyboard with your thumbs, do you?
I play spread style, right index on X (down), right middle on O (right), left index on square (left), left middle on triangle (up). The controller rests on the floor diagonally, so that my arms are not positioned awkwardly.
I can't AA any 10s, but I can A some, and I can AA all the 9s (and below of course), with some SN2 AAAs on a lot of SN2 songs (EternuS for one

I play on controller like I play stepmania, right middle finger and left index on the shape buttons.
My scores are a lot better on controller as well, and the only songs I can't AA so far are FELMO and DEAD END (GRS). Apart from those two, I think I'm pretty good with a controller.
Although sometimes I use each thumb on one side of the controller, but that's only if my fingers get tired. It is actually a lot more tiring to move thumbs though.

Slight problem with that.
I'm not as good with that setup as the down button is lower than on the keyboard and I don't like playing on the floor often.
I'm already really good with the controller, I just have a slight problem with jackhammer streams featuring the up and right arrows.
Oh and I've AA'd FELMOwith the Jump 1 mod

I guess I'm weird, I consider sitting on the floor natural, so when I got my own apartment, I didn't buy any chairs. Nor a bed.
Anway, you should be able to hold the controller in your lap easily. Unless you're one of those normal people that doesn't sit crosslegged in chairs.
It boggles me when people do so well with a setup that seems so obviously suboptimal. With my set up, I only have problems with with UR streams because my knuckles rub together. Only reason I can't AA 10's is because I haven't played on the controller enough to build up the speed in my fingers.

I play exactly as I would play StepMania: Index and middle fingers on right hand, sitting in a chair (or on my bed, I'm not that picky).

I can AA (sometimes FC) anything except the 10-footers and more recent 9-footers. It also helps me break in new controllers.
I kinda have no choice but to play CCR at home. My apartment building's old, and me + DDR + creaky floors + family for neighbors is not a good mix.
