I have 2 questions stuck in my mind at the moment for SN1 and I'm wondering if any of you know the answer to.
Question 1: For the online exclusive for DDR SN1 (PS2 US), do you know where each of the exclusive song goes (in each category). I'm confused because in DS SN1 TRIM is in Konami Originals. But in DDR SN1 for japan, it's a boss song.
Question 2: When I compare Extreme 2 to SuperNOVA, the graphics in SuperNOVA are far more advance. Why did it change so much so fast?
If you know one or both of the answers please let me know! I'm very curious to know why!

Boss songs are Konami originals. I remember that before our SN1 was synced, the game didn't have a specific sorting for "boss songs" (among licences, new KO's, crossovers, etc, couldn't sort by folder anyway)
Whenever I got Healing-D-Vision, it appeared between Fly Away and Honey Punch in the song wheel, and Fascination MAXX appeared between Baby's Tears and Flow. CHAOS also appeared between Baby's Tears and Flow, with HDV just within sight four songs below. I don't think they still did that after the sync, I may be wrong. Either way, the boss song categorization in the Konami Originals section shows that, although they are bosses, they are still KO's.
And a boss for one mix may not be a boss for another, so it's "boss" status died and it reverted to a regular Konami Original.

The graphics got better very fast because they came from the first arcade release in four years. So those graphics are the result of an arcade budget. Whereas Extreme 2 (as nice as it looked from my perspective) was only a KCET gamesoft project.
SuperNova was also when the arcades switched from the PSOne boards to PS2s, so the resolution and color depth spiked as well.

That make me disappointed. Because Konami too focused using dancer and the 3-D background as the video, so they removed nice video BG and BG wallpaper for unknown reason. DDR X has same too after i watched the trailer. I envy with DDR Universe that still have tons of video BG and official BG for each songs. I think DDR Extreme 2 project is the best DDR ever than DDR SuperNOVA project. Just don't rely on dancer too much.

It is nice that Universe still uses background images, but they're rather generic and not as good as Extreme AC or Extreme 2 (or even the Ultramixes
).
Oh well, at least users can create their own (and most of them are better than the ones I mentioned above ;D).

NeoRevenG: Oh I dunno, Hottest Party has some pretty decent dancers. My main gripes with SN were about dancers not stopping at the end of the song, or stages that made the arrows hard to read. HP's dancers actually stop and pose at the end, and HP2's looking to have some really good stages. (TERRA, Paranoia Survivor references? I can go for that!)

Sure, HP's dancers are animated slightly better, and the stages look more interesting, BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GET RID OF THE BOBBLE HEAD LOOK! I swear, that's the second most irritating thing about the game.

Well, I too know for a fact know that the boss songs so far are Konami Originals. I mean, hey, would there be a time that crossovers would become boss songs? *cough*Quasar*cough cough*

Technically...Outer Limits, Mad Blast, and Sakura were considered boss songs in DDR Festival.

i agree they do look a bit cartoonish compared to the SuperNOVA series (and X). but who really cares in HP 1 the only descent character is Rena. I've also noticed (it was kinda ovious) that all they characters ,except the back up ones, are remakes of the SN charaters. If they only they remade Baby Lon! That and maybe Alice.

You never unlocked HP Emi did you? She's normal.
Besides I kinda like the super-deformed version characters. It's like seeing the pop'n drawings for some of the classic DDR dancers, fresh look for an old piece of art.

I don't mind the characters. HP's not a DDR game of the Extreme/SuperNOVA caliber, so I expect it to look different.
