[OutFox] SM5 Ultimate

A simplified theme by Luizsan, originally started for Stepmania 5.0.12 and 5.1.x, then 5.1.-3, now updated for OutFox play.







Why update this?
It was mostly curiosity. I was around at the time when 5.1-3 happened, and caused so much confusion around people as typical workflows for themes were seemengly replaced overnight, and had to try to figure out how to work with it. Only about 3 themes (I could be wrong) were made for that version, ultimate, while not starting as a 5.1-3 theme, would later be updated to only support that version.

So, this repo provides an updated version that works with OutFox builds, a43 at a minimum, while retaining most of the original code.

Some new features include:

- OutFox Online integration, with leaderboard displays, login displays, and overlays.
- Reworked notefield preview for faster loading.
- Backporting of several 5.1.-3 elements to make this work.

This theme is new to me, I like it a lot. Just one question: is there any way to sort not by group? Like ABC or something, I don't know if PIU themes have a common button combo or something for that 😅

No, it is currently only group. Hence the button for the menu being labeled as "Group". I could add sorting methods in the future.

I loved it! The best of Piu and the best of DDR together. This could set a future trend! Is it possible to change the background color depending on the group selected? Do you accept donations to continue developing it?

Out-fox 5 closes for me when I change to pump mode or home mode and Out-fox or SMA 5 no longer opens.

That could also be a future addition, but for the time being, I wanna deal with some other things before going back to the theme (such at the bug mentioned above). As for donations, no.

it stops at the profile screen, i can still use f3 and operator, but it simply doesn't go anywhere

edit: i forgoted to say, it is on 5.0.12

It won't work on StepMania builds, this version of the theme is for Project OutFox, Alpha 43 and higher.

and it no longer crashes when modifying the internal options of the theme

Wow, writing for closed source SM builds, imagine if OF went open source though, would help us SM devs a lot.

Outfox devs supporting their own project with themes is a good thing, actually.

They're not going to, they are on Steam. IMO, they have other goals besides being freely modifiable and open source. Not sure what this has to do with this theme though. /lh o.O

Technically yeah, but if I didn't step up to make any version of StepMania that's not yet another Lua 5.1 build, we wouldn't have any open version that maybe could run OutFox themes, tho I'm not counting on that right now, work in progress.
