How about Rating History?

As in,

Today: 95
Yesterday: 100
2 days ago: 90
3-6 days ago;
One week ago;
Two Weeks;
Three Weeks;
One month;

I can understand if it can't be done or would take too long, but I honestly see this as a way to help people know where they made mistakes and where they made good decisions.

To go even more in depth, it could show the rating recieved and the topic or post the rating was given in.

How bout it? ;

It'll flood the database with history data.

And ratings are meant to be about the user in general, not because of a particular thread. I see -5s from time to time given to others and I hate to think how much of those -5s is because of Forum Games or something silly instead of forum conduct.

Perhaps for negative ratings, I should ask the user to post a little comment for why they are rating negative ratings or something and when the user goes to check User Options, the comments will appear as anonymous.

This site's community is generally a lot more 'friendlier' than others (only 3 people have been banned since the start, which is a lot less than other DDR sites), so I can't really see that happen on a large scale.

To me, ratings don't necessarily mean how good a person someone is, just how much you like them. If you don't like someone, why do you need to say so in a message that will receive a response just as harsh?

I don't rate new people, but for everyone else, I start them off at 3 or -3 and move it up or down a point if a post is really good or really stupid.

Or sometimes, I'll give certain ratings to get an even score (like now, it's 100 ).

I say you should give it a try, however if things go wrong, you should just stop it, that is if you letting people see what they have been rated by other members.
