Help with simfile and steps creation

I been creating my own stepcharts for almost 4 years now but never add a bg video before but theres a song called "Secret Rouge" from the new IIDX and i want to use the video but don't know how to make it play on time with the auso and charts.

Is there something i should focus to "sync" the bgvideo?

Long story short:

You have two options. Edit the #BGCHANGES


-0.500 = is the measure, of where the song must start. It's funny because many songs start with a negative measure BUT a negative could do nothing (it starts at zero regardless of the negative value).
Example: if the video must start 1.2 seconds late then, you must calculate this time in MEASURE and put the right value here 1.8.
Using ArrowVortex:

Example: If the video must start 1.2 seconds early, then it's up to the program to accept a negative value. Most programs don't accept it. So, if this is the case, then you must cut the video. You could use VLC to cut part of the video. I use Adobe Premiere because I am seasoned with it. Also, VirtualDub allows to cut videos for free.


16A7.mpg is the video.


or, you could rename the video the same as the .ssc, sm, or .sma file. However, it only works if the video and audio are in sync.

Correction: -0.5 is the beat number, not the measure number. So, if you want to start the bg movie at measure x, the value would be x*4 (if using default time signature 4/4)

Tips for syncing simfile: always start the music at measure 1 (or measure 2 in some cases) *and* make sure your song offset is not a negative number. You will encounter issue adjusting bg video sync if the song offset is a negative number.

In order to avoid getting negative number song offset, try adding the song offset by 1 beat and repeat until the song offset is a positive number *and* the music starts at measure 1.

Edit: Here is the demo video on how to sync simfile using ArrowVortex. See that you get a positive number song offset and the music starts at measure 1 in the end of the video.
