I’ve recently reached a point where I can only see myself properly improve if my timing is worked on. Whilst I am getting a good amount of Perfects and Marvellouses, my Great count can be in the double, or triple digits. If I really focus, (or know the ins and outs of a chart) I can bring these numbers down. However, I only improve in minuscule increments. I was wondering if there are any tips for improving timing for sight-reading, rather than just playing more DDR (of course, this is a very obvious answer to my question. Rather, I am wondering if anyone knows something that helped them in particular, specific tricks) For reference, I get around 100 or so Greats on sight-read 15s, and this fluctuates slightly depending on the song. I hope this makes sense!

if you have a home setup, try tightening the great window some, maybe halfway to the perfect window? and try to get as few goods as possible. it worked for me.

- Figure out your ideal reading speed - if it's too slow there are too many notes on screen and you can't time as well, but if it's too fast you don't have time to react to the patterns and get lots of slows. Most people have this around 500-650 (as an example, 3x scroll speed on 180 BPM would be a speed of 540). Although dropping this number lower can help you see how different patterns of notes go into each other.
- Like Sigrev said figure out your general offset. Once you find a chart you can time consistently on, fiddle with the offset and see if you get better scores in different settings
- Don't be afraid of going down a few levels and practising timing, it can really help you get comfortable with hitting patterns right too! For example, the 13 folder has a few crossover charts, and practising these can make going into 15s and above easier.
- I found when getting into higher levels the notes are actually slower than I realised. Trying charts I didn't know made me tend to rush notes and get lots of fasts too. If I play a chart with the same BPM before the harder chart, I usually get better scores.
- Use the NOTE noteskin if you can (depends if it's a white cab stuck in local mode or not), it quantisizes all notes by timing, making them easier to read and hit accurately.

With that more greats you got, I hope you don't use wireless controllers especially the bluetooth ones. That always happen.
