"Magic Parade with me!"
So yeah, random discussion topic. What do you think are the good and bad points of all the major In-Housers for all the major dance games? For your convenience, I've tried to list most of the big ones. Chances are I probably missed a few but if I did you can write 'em in.

Konami:
Naoki Maeda
Takayuki Ishikawa
Tatsh
Sota Fujimori

Andamiro:
Yahpp/BanYa (no longer with Andamiro, but up until recently was involved in essentially every PIU)
Banya Productions (BanYa without Yahpp, I think?)
Kyle Ward (formerly of Roxor)

Monakai/VULPvibe:
Renard
E. TN Machines!

I wouldn't include Tatsh in a list of the 'big ones'. His BEMANI repertoire pales in comparison to many others, such as DJ YOSHITAKA, dj nagureo, TOMOSUKE, and L.E.D.

Nobody? I'll be first then...

Naoki Maeda

Good:
Makes a lot of cool stuff for DDR (especially boss songs and the like).

Bad:
Waaay too many DDR songs are by him, and a lot of em sound the same.

Takayuki Ishikawa

Good:
Crazy awesome musician. If you like a IIDX song, theres a good chance its by Taka.

Bad:
Uhh...I guess sorta the same problem as Naoki but not as bad.

Tatsuya Shimizu

Good:
His songs caught on quick, despite him appearing out of nowhere. Lots of epic stuff (Zenius, Xepher, contributed to 冥).

Bad:
Left Bemani to go make music for hentai games Evil.

Yuichi Asami

Good:
Stuff he remixes as 2MB is often pretty good and some of the most overplayed stuff in DDR.

Bad:
Been kinda sloppy lately as 2MB. Nothing he makes as U1 is all that memorable.

Kyle Ward

Good:
The Naoki of ITG, love the stuff he makes under the pseudonyms Smiley, Banzai, and ZiGZaG (assuming thats him).

Bad:
Stuff he makes under KaW and Inspector K all sound pretty dull.

Excluded a lot of em, but those are my main favorites.

WHAT? I love Inspector K! Evil

DJ Yoshitaka is a good artist, but being overplayed isn't a good thing. Same problem with Naoki, Tatsh, and Ryu*.

Sota is a pretty good artist (Hybrid Landscape is my favorite Bemani song), but his trance songs aren't varied well.

Tomosuke is awesome (especially Zektbach and Orange Lounge), but for all those great works, there's also STAY.

L.E.D. has made a few good songs (e.g. Infinite Prayer -floating flock style- and Dawn (The Next Endeavor), but now he mostly does gabba.

I don't know how Dynamite Rave and something like Poseidon sound the same. So I'll have to disagree with you there. Though, that's probably why he has so many different names.

I'd also like to add-on that L.E.D. should make more trance, too.
So in my brief return, I am going to slowly but surely work on a new simfile mix called TEMPEST. Still workin' on it. Preview -->

lmao that was pretty funny

Does anyone know if Oynx is Kyle Ward? On other forums, i've seen that its pretty much accepted that he is ZiGZaG even though he denies it, but I haven't really seen much talk of Onyx. If it is him, it's probably my favorite alias of his.

Maybe it's just a sign that the gallery in future IIDX games will have slightly different content.

^Generic clips on IIDX16 will include phrases such as "give it to me harder" and "we'll go all night". Hey, it's not trains and waves.

These two don't, but the NAOKI songs all sound similar.

They sound different as time goes by, though. I can't see a similarity between... let's say, B4U and D2R. But.... 1998 and D2R do sound very similar.

"MAGGLE"
Junko Karashima

Good: I like her songs as part of Terra.

Bad: Songs made by her are almost always happy hardcore unless she gets into one of her "fits"
(paranoia hades and super samurai). And paranoia hades sounds like it was made for iidx.

Kyle Ward

Good: KAW, BanZai, some Inpsector K songs and Vertex^2 are quite acceptable.

Bad: Everything else is atrocious.

Naoki Maeda

Good: A very versatile konami artist which creates songs on most bemani games and in a wide range of genres and hires impressive singers for his songs.

Bad: Somehow gets overrated since there's at least 15 songs by him. Some good songs debut/stay on IIDX and sold out BeForU to Avex (you know how strict avex can be).

Banya:

Good - It's the Korean Naoki. Banya have done so many genres, there's guaranteed to be one song you like by them.
Bad - It's the Korean Naoki. Nearly half of PIU's soundtrack is by Banya. And every song made by Banya is one less chance foo Go, What's Going On or My Friend to appear on the songlist. Also, Oy Oy Oy. It's like Baila! Baila!, but worse. I don't know how it was possible.

dj.TAKA:

Good - His trance is second to none, in my opinion.
Bad - His singing voice. *shudders at the thought of memories...*

Asaki:

Good - I love visual kei, and that's effectively what Asaki does, no? I particularly like the more erratic songs by him (Konoko, Happiness Expressed by Poetry, etc.), but I do really like Sizuku, too...
Bad - Anyone who's not heard of visual kei before will likely be weirded out...

Tomosuke
good- pretty much everything. I especially love his Orange Lounge songs and his jazzy stuff (Egrosphere, Tizona D' El Cid, etc...)
bad- nothing

Seiya Murai
good- everything. I especially love his stuff as World Sequence
bad- nothing really

Jun
good- I love Sunkiss Drop, Sweet Sweet Love Magic, and her instrumental version of Raspberry Heart (also <3 the one where she does the vocals) and she's pretty hawt!
bad- Happy Angel and True Love annoyed me, but that was mainly due to the vocals.

Tatsh
good- his stuff with Junko Hirata, Red Zone (with Naoki), Zenius I Vanisher, etc..
bad- Sphere didn't appeal to me, really. I know he left bemani, but was it seriously to do music for hentai games?

Sana
good- Has a good variety in her music and I enjoy most of it
bad- some of her stuff gets a little too cheesy for my tastes

Akira yamaoka
Good- I love most of his songs which are in DDR (inluding silent hill songs).
bad-most of those awesome songs debuted on IIDX and the ones on ultramix (love me do [the remix, love the original] and bitmania) appear substandard and sloppy.

DJ Yoshitaka:
The good- His music is generally decent ignoring the fact that it's repetitive.
The bad- His music is repetitive and occasionally boring. Plus, the only reason why everyone is in love with him is because Naoki brought him in for the only IIDX version he was a sound director for (RED).

Kyle Ward:
The good- The driving force behind ITG.
The bad- A lot of his music sucks and he's a pretentious wad of shit.
