I can see why... There definitely was more hype in the Los Angeles test, I know this because when I came for the location test, all of the machines were full and I had to at first play with another person. However, it was also pretty early on in the location test period, and a Saturday afternoon, so that might've affected how many people played it. They should've done the East Coast for a location as the recorder for the footage I saw for the Los Angeles test came across the coast to play it, so that must mean there is some demand for it on the other side.

Got a Google notification of all things, apparently maimai dx is now on the Sega amusement website: https://segaarcade.com/games/maimai-dx-twin
It's actually happening?
Edit: Official confirmation of Amusement Expo appearance here: https://segaarcade.com/news/sega-amusements-ignites-us-rhythm-game-scene-with-maimai-dx-at-amusement-expo
Apparently the listing mentionedls annual content updates... Could we be skipping Plus versions? At least we get online.

Gosh I hope this comes to the UK and my local place gets at least a location test, I know some of their games are distributed by sega amusements already so I'm feeling kinda hopeful too.

I submitted an "enquiry request" and got a SEGA Rep's contact, but another local called and they pretty much said what was public (which was nothing), and that after the expo they'll have more info.

I sent an inquiry too but I got 'sorry, not available for EMEA yet, only us and Canada, but this will change in the future' The guy also said 'We know the EMEA has an appetite for maimai' appetite? I have what Banica Conchita has but for more rhythm games lol, I also know this one person in the Kurdish region who LOVES MAIMAI, but they never have a chance to play; no locations nearby lol.

Any new info? Since it's April, the amusement expo has definitely ended. For example: Is there a new location test?

Made its rounds on Twitter but Maimai will be 31k + monthly fee for arcades that want it in US, we'll see how many decide to make the investment...

It's 31k + yearly fee ($2000). Makes the upfront cost a lot more than what distributors in Asia are asking for, but in the long run they're paying a lot less for keeping the game online.
The recent article by Arcade Heroes is a good roundup of information that's already been out for a while, most of which comes from Ikigai Arcade talking with distributors as well as their own contacts established with SAI/Kaizen.

-The game is being manufactured in South Korea, with production beginning in June/July
-Shipping is still being planned for late Aug/Sept.
-Demand has been high and the first production run is “almost sold out”.
-MSRP is still $30,995 (which includes the routers), but this might change depending on what tariff costs are from Korea at the end of the summer.
-There are “no other monthly fees”.
-From Jan 2028 there will be an annual charge of approx. $2000 for the upgrade kits for its twice-yearly new versions (e.g. the current Maimai DX Prism), which include between new 200-300 songs. The $2000 pays for two upgrades during the year.
-The US version will follow with the updates that the game sees in Japan via the existing ‘International’ version already supplied to other Asian territories, so there won’t be a situation where it gets 2/3/4 versions behind.
-A release in Europe is still TBD decision, depending on the North American roll-out and licensing.
One thing we can be sure of just from talks within the industry, A Lot of companies are investing, that's why they're able to report that it's been almost sold out at the time of notice. But it looks like there's a lot more resistance within the underground community and that mostly comes out of the benefits that come with running a pirated copy of the Japanese version without the expenses of the official network.
At this point in time though, we know that the game ships with the same version of Prism that's being distributed in Asia, but USA spec models will instead ship with a dud assy to replace the camera as the functionality is disabled entirely. On top of that, there's still going to be songs seen in Asia that will not be available in the US region much like there was in the location test. It's still unconfirmed what will happen in terms of allnet access because the daily maintenance timer will be a thorn in the side of any venue running this since it's late-afternoon, but as the article says it's up to the team at SEGA Fave to be the ones to organise the development of this, but baring that it will (again much like the location test) use the same account data from the existing international version

I'm happy for the MaiMai folks finally getting a US version, I might have to finally play it if my R1 ever gets a machine. >>

What's crazy is that most US Round1s already have allnet routers assigned to them. While some venues need them for Project Diva, there are many more venues that have them that don't have any use for them at the moment. And this isn't a recent development either,
Call it an early investment, they'll be paying a fraction less overall for that. Like it's not like when a normal customer would buy a second unit and then pay for an extra included paperweight
