Are there songs with built-in modifiers?
I saw someone playing a song which appeared to have Sudden during the slow part of the song, but then the Sudden modifier disappeared when the song sped up.

You're probably looking at the new CONSTANT modifier. You can configure (in milliseconds) when arrows appear before they hit the receptor. Think of it as a dynamic Sudden mod.

It was first forced on in A3 when you played Hou on Encore Extra (via Galaxy Play). Because you went straight into it from Galaxy Stage, there was no way for the player to configure CONSTANT, although the game automatically adjusted your speed mod based on what song you played before and your previous speed mod.

there are double charts that only use the 1P pad but those belong to licenses that debuted on SOLO BASS/2000 that got put into EXTRA MIX

That’s freaking rad. It reminds me of Hanabera 1 double expert on ITG2, minus the hands. I never played old Pump stuff but people on AIJ back in the day said the idea for Habanera 1 came from an old Pump mode called half doubles or something like that, the general concept is without the “threat” of the furthest panels they can use some more “forbidden” patterns.
