I've been looking at both MAX2 US, JPN Extreme, and some beta screenshots of Extreme's American port in where they used JP Extreme's UI in English and had the idea of combining them all into some SM 3.9 based....thing....
I asked Beware if I could use his Extreme simulation as a base and he said yes, so credits to him for approving.
It's more or less a little side project.
Currently, I'm looking for permission to use certain assets from Inorizushi's Extreme USA/DDR Festival theme as Beware based his simulation on the arcade version of Extreme while this is meant to look more somewhat like the Japanese PS2 port.
Extreme PS2 (USA and JPN) use some assets from MAX2 such as the ready, cleared, and failed prompts alongside the music used from MAX2 USA's course menu (2-Step) meaning that it'll look more like the PS2 version.
Certain assets such as the freeze arrows explanation and the button prompts were taken from TCRF and were found sitting unused on the disc, hinting that they had plans to localize JP Extreme but scrapped it, leaving these as the only remains.
The difficulty bars were edited to remove the kanji and had to be slightly touched up
Here's a few mockup screenshots I captured:
NOTE:
Some graphics haven't been edited yet due to them being more difficult to edit,
such as the difficulty icons on the select screen(s) or the explanation text on the menu(s).

Oh, thank you.
I started off by simply replacing assets with ones from Extreme US' unused graphics which were JP's but translated with some from old SM themes and a few that were manually edited to remove Japanese text and translated using the US games as a guide with one taken from the US version of Max2 and edited. Some of the assets were taken from a Extreme US theme on SM such as the ready, here we go, and Cleared text which were reused from Max2.
I have to figure out how to modify the theme to play the crowd cheering sound in the stage transitions and add the difficulty signs like in the PS2 version of JP Extreme.
