Hello, well, I would like to know how I can classify the songs in stepmania 5 by Series without having to create a new folder in SONGS
something similar to the Pump It Up PRIME channels only with Dance mode
i.e. example
Abbys would go on the Series or Channel "Beatmania IIDX"
Butterfly would go in the Series or Channel "Dancemania" and so on with the other DDR songs since I have seen that in the official arcade modes of DDR A and others they use this option

StepMania should support the genre tag, you could be able to use that but this would vary from theme to theme if that actually shows up. Or you could set up preferred sort, but again that's also going to vary from theme to theme if it shows up.

And can you manage, let's say, two genres in the same song?
So how, let's say, Abbys from DDR 5thMIX will appear on both Beatmania IIDX and, let's say, GITADORA, for example?
It would be to use something similar to this
#GENRE:Beatmania IIDX;
#GENRE2:GITADORA;

I don't know. I know in preferred sort you can't put a song in two folders (but you can put it in one folder twice, if you really wanted to) so StepMania might not allow it. You would have to try it out yourself.

I understand
And with the Group.ini file, wouldn't it be possible to achieve this classification?

I've never tried making a group.ini file, but I think those are used to sort a folder a certain way (I have a couple folders that have them, like Starlight XX and Anthology, and that seems to be what they do). Like making the 5thMIX folder sort how you want it instead of by default, but without having to make a preferred sort file that includes every folder in your setup. I don't think you can use it to put a song into a genre, I think it's only active in that folder.

My fork supports songs in multiple folders per song for preferred sort. I use this for ddr 2014 theme. But there are some issues that I haven't fixed, you will be returned to the wrong folder when exiting gameplay results and the loading of preferred sort gets slower the more songs you have.
StepMania wasn't really designed to support this, so implementing it isn't easy.
