Yeah, always seems to happen to me late at night. During the daytime in EST it's fine, after like 9 or 10 PM it's fucked. Not fucked enough to not work, mind you, just enough to put that annoying popup on the screen.

Turns out the arcade map has been hitting the API quota every day (1000).
We've increased the quota to 1250, but unfortunately, increasing it higher than that is costly.
Remember when Google Maps API used to be free? 🙃

Still seeing issues. I assume it's still hitting the quota?
Any idea if it's just that the arcades page is getting that many hits, or if maybe there's a bot abusing it for something? Try adding a captcha or something before map load.

It does sound like it could be getting hit by bots. maybe figuring out the site for register.

I didn't include this in my joke post, but I looked at it, and I understand why a lot of companies have moved over to OSM or Mapbox over the past couple years

Got billed almost £40 last month for that temporary quota increase - I won't be doing that again.
I have changed the arcade pages to not use Google Maps now so there should not be any quota errors going forward.

Only thing I think this is missing from google maps is a fullscreen button.
It's not a standard feature, but there's plugins that enable it

Just noticed that adding a new arcade no longer autofills the address. Not a huge deal, but not sure if this was intended or expected behavior.
