Trailer went up a couple days ago; saw it on a Discord server just now.

Looks like it has either three or five lanes and that everyone is assigned their own instrument.

But uh, elephant in the room is how on earth are they gonna make a rhythm game work with stream and server latency??

They're not. There's just no way. My household will sometimes stream Jackbox games to play with friends, and there's already enough lag problems with stuff like some of the mini-games in Trivia Murder Party. Otherwise, this would be a slam dunk.

Couple weeks ago the dev team of the game uploaded some footage of them playing it together. Seems that they do at least have a syncing step before every song. Works well for them on their network, but of course, there will be many more connection environments where this will be expected to work...

Edit: They did mention that they did try it over Zoom, and that it did work well there. They also showed B-roll of it on Discord.

Append: Okay, I just tried it with some friends in a Discord call and Twitch stream. Believe it or not, but it actually works. I have no idea how they pulled it off, but they can have the stream playing the music while your device plays the sound effects, and it doesn't desync. You just have a syncing step at the start where you tap three times, and it does the rest. It's actually really fun too, since the versus component is basically built in, and everyone can play different instruments with different chartings. You hear the sum of everyone's playing in the second half, which is basically a replay that grades your entire group. After that, you see individual scores and everyone gets ranked. I recommend it!

Good to hear. Definitely excited to give this a try after I've had my fill of Sonic and Mario.
