Dancing Poppers
~Hello! I'm dancing pop music, let's dance it together!~
~Hello! I'm dancing pop music, let's dance it together!~
Good day, community, I hope you are doing amazing! I'm 2MBoy, and I want to share with you this little project I'm working on.
Dancing Poppers was born from an old idea of having all my favorite pop'n music songs to play on DDR format, and after give it a first attempt 16 years ago, I took again this project and finally did some relevant progress.
I'll present you the first 2 volumes: Vol.I recopilates songs from the first 3 pop'n music and Vol.II have songs from pop'n music 4,5, and 6. There are only single modes (

I'm still creating more charts for newer Volumes, I would glady share them with you once they are finished, updating this page!
To play these songs, I highly recommend themes like Simply Love because it uses 256x80 banners and a custom background for all songs in every volume.
Last but not least I want to give credits to:
- RemyWiki community for banners and songs information (asked for permission on their discord before sharing this), specially to:
GlaringRadiokid (PnM1,PnM2,PnM3, PnM4, PnM5 and PnM6 banners)
Malev (PnM1,PnM2,PnM3, PnM4, PnM5 and PnM6 banners)
Wyveelix (PnM1,PnM5 and PnM6 banners)
Rainbow (PnM1,PnM2,PnM3, PnM4, PnM5 and PnM6 banners)
Tikal (PnM3 and PnM5 banners)
- Pop'n Music Wiki for some chara sprites and games logos I took for custom banners, backgrounds and CD images (couldn't communicate to them but I will credit them anyway), specially to:
OJ_Tuyoshi (Nyami and Mimi sprites from Pop'n Music 2, 3 and 6)
- Khinsider for audios.
- KONAMI and BEMANI for their amazing games and their music I love which inspired me to create this proyect!
Without further ado, here they are!

These are some nice charts -- good work!
I have one question: it feels like these charts are a mix of X-Scale and old-scale? Some of the 7s and 8s feel like 10s-11s, while there are also charts rated 12-15 in the pack. Are you using a PIU-style difficulty rating system? Because that makes the most sense based on what I've seen so far.

Thank you so much man!

About your question, I did struggle about ratings and in the end it resulted exactly as you say, a mix between old and the new scale. Was hard for me to rate the easier charts so most of them are rated in the old scale, but I think I did it okay with the most difficult songs. To solve this issue I'm playing more official charts in my Stepmania to get used to the actual rates, and I'm being more careful on this topic in Vol.III, hoping I get a good difficulty rating this time.
I appreciate your question! I hope this answers why you see difficulties like this in these volumes.
