"five minute white boy challenge"
Thought about having a little bit of fun and it's been a hot minute since I've spoken positively about rhythm games, so let's all list and/or discuss the moments in rhythm gaming that made us the most hype, excited, emotional, etc.

General rules are the moment can be anything from rhythm games, even if it's something that you personally didn't accomplish and just happened to witness. The moment also doesn't have to be unique to yourself (I.E it can be the first time you unlocked an Extra Stage in a game, or the first time you had to play Through the Fire and Flames during the credits of Guitar Hero 3.)

Here's a brief few from me:
- Getting to shoot off the fireworks after clearing all 84 songs of the Endless Setlist in Rock Band 2
- Getting to play Hysteria by Muse on bass guitar in Rock Band 1
- Unlocking the Rockin' Night Style remix of OBLIVION in DJMAX Respect
- Being locked into Dance Dance Revolution after AAing The Legend of Max for the first time in DDR Extreme AC
- The "GAME OVER" vocal at the end of Human After All by Daft Punk in DJ Hero 2
- Surviving QUANTUMFLUX Challenge in DDR XX
- ACE FOR ACES' first ever clear in DDR A

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

"Crybabies unite~ ♡"
Getting out the first yuisin videos to showcase DDR XX. The excitement that I had was greater than I could possibly have expressed in words at the time.

"suffering from success"
One of my proudest moments was when I 100%ed EX2's mission mode for the first time. Struggling with that game's bullshit, especially considering I was far from great (but better than good) and managing to make it not only to the end but annihilating every single thing in my way. THE FINAL mission might be a bit of a blue ball but I take it more as a treat for coming so far along. Like the exclusive MAXIMIZER chart as the last mission in EX CS.
I'm sure I have even more hype moments but everything's been blurring together for me so it's hard to pinpoint anything. But this is a feeling I'll never be able to forget.

Id say:
-When i started PMing songs in Arcaea, but the mosst hype was when i PMed my first (and only xD) 9+, which was SUPERNOVA, and ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!
-Very recently in DDR, passing my firsts 17s, which was New Era, and the same excitement went for the other 4 that i passed. also when i (great)FCED Pump Pump Pump ESP15 in a sightread??? i still cant process how this happened
-Not this much, but when i passed a few weeks ago my first two 13s in ITG, both from the Zimlord packs xD... i am so impressed can do things at 170> streams, i want to improve my footspeed!

I think there is more, but for now i cant remember
hiatus

Let's see...
Getting the credits sequence in DDR X AC.
Hearing most of Rhythm Heaven Fever's music for the first time.
Beating the Barista in Rhythm Heaven Megamix's Figure Fighter VS.
AAing LOM Standard for the 1st time.
Clearing Mei Standard on DDR A while the other guy failed out on. (Extra stage).
Getting my 1st Arcade AAA.
Getting my 1st MFC.
Finally getting to play the import DDR games.

It was year 2001 and I was 10 years old that time so basically a simple Standard chart at the time is enough to get an applause from a crowd. So I cleared two Standard charts (can't remember the first song, probably Stomp to my Beat, the 2nd song is Boom Boom Dollar) and got applauded. The infuriating part though is I failed (Hero) at the last stage but on the bright side, the crowd already left before I failed the song.

Getting at least AA is something I'm already happy with. May not seem much but I almost always play at x1.

For me I think my greatest DDR moment was when I GFCed Tohoku Evolved DSP at the DDR 2014 location test at Puente Hills Mall. It was so cool to be one of the first in the US to play on a legit arcade cabinet with the newest content, and also play at my best at the time. Really set the stage for the next few years of grinding DDR A at Dave and Busters.

I also got to keep my coveted green circle when the scores ported over, but not the letter grades.

My favorite moment is watching everyone recollect their favorite moments in this thread. Seeing people so proud of what they've accomplished through hell or high water, it just warms my heart. You being here, alive, today is your greatest accomplishment yet. I hope to see you all continue to prosper.

"I'm a fucking idiot"

Last updated: 2023-04-10 10:27pm
Since I've been playing DDR since 2004, I've demonstrated a steady progression of milestones, so I'll just dilute everything I'm proud of over that 18-year span (gross! I'm not that old!) into three major accomplishments:
-My first PFC (2018, SP-TRIP MACHINE S-Heavy on an Extreme cab)
-My highest PFC (HVAM S-Heavy, last week)
-My first 16 GFC (MAX.(Period), also last week)

I have played a fair amount of Taiko and DJMAX, although not sufficiently enough to really net any breakthroughs or milestones there. I've played a veritable fuckload of Flash Flash Revolution, though, and my highest achievement on that game is PFCing a 97 (out of 120) and remaining in Division 7 even after a site-wide ratings recalculation.

Getting the high score at my local DDR cab was fun.

I think for myself, personally, seeing the improvements I've made over the Months, going from a low 700k score to a Higher 880k Score on Other songs.

Today I got a PB of 886K on Nights of Nights 15 on my DDR cab. Felt pretty good.

I remember my first Arcaea Future PM was Inkar Usi (It was also my first Past PM, that one I got on accident)
Getting my first A rank on Modelista (FTR) was also incredible because I can usually only complete up to a 9 but by some miracle, I was able to do a 10 (Arcaea difficulty levels are 1-11, except for Testify which is a 12)
I also remember when I was finally able to do a Chaos difficulty 15 song in Cytus II (I think it was the free Groove Coaster collab one)
I also remember seeing one of my favorite Pop'n characters getting a song in Kai Mei Riddles and I was like "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES"
