Welcome to Zenius -I- vision Song Contest 2023! My name’s darkanine a.k.a. Vective, and together with Karl With A K, we will be hosting this year’s competition! Let me explain how this works.
You and up to one other person can join to create two original songs, each with its own original choreography (a.k.a. stepchart). You two may split the role of composer and stepartist, or share either role or both. Or you can fly solo and do everything yourself.
Semi-final: Each participating team will submit one original song and choreography for the Semi-final. Your submission must follow these guidelines:
Song Guidelines
⟴ 2 minutes 30 seconds or less⟴ Song must be original in nature
⟴ Remixes and the use of samples are allowed, but not required
Stepchart Guidelines
⟴ Contains at least one chart rated 14 or below⟴ Must be DDR-style in nature
⟴ Mines, rolls and other gimmicks are allowed, but not required
Any extras provided to the file (graphics, background video, lyrics, etc.) are not required but encouraged if suitable.
SEMI-FINAL SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 28th, 11:30 PM UTC. ⇶SUBMISSION LINK⬱
Final: Each participating team will submit one original song and choreography for the Final. Entrance into the final is reserved for those teams who participate in the semi-final. Your submission must follow these guidelines:

Song Reveal Broadcasts: For this year, instead of uploading your simfiles directly, the hosts will reveal each song alongside its showcase choreography one by one in a livestream thru Discord. More information about this will be revealed in the future.
Voting: Each voter should determine their votes from both the song and the choreography of each entry. Each voter will distribute points to their top ten entries following this distribution (based off Eurovision):

10 points
8 points
7 points
6 points
5 points
4 points
3 points
2 points
1 point
The top five teams with the most points from the semi-final will earn a spot as the "Big Five" and will be given a bonus of 20 points in the final round. The final winner will be determined by the total number of points from all votes and the bonus, if earned, from the final round only.
At least one person from each team is required to vote. Not voting could forfeit your opportunity of a bonus in the semi-final, or even the final trophy. Remember, you cannot vote for your own team!
Audience: Even if you do not plan to participate as a team, you can still join the audience and vote! Voting is HIGHLY encouraged from non-participants.

I know I have not been to this website in years, but I recently started getting both into Eurovision and making simfiles again.
I've also been working on my own originally-produced music tracks for a Eurovision spoof which I participate in.
So, since there is ample time, I thought I would enter this contest
It's good to be back here, by the way. I still can't believe it's already been almost 8 years since I first joined.

I don't know yet if I wanna join. I'd probably need to work with someone, because despite having composed some songs in the past, I do struggle a bit with instruments, and if the song has to be composed FOR this contest (can't be a song you've had beforehand), then I can't really just make songs like that, it's definitely one of those things I can't just make happen.
