Hi guys, this is Curilang again. Let me introduce this DDR A3 theme (V.1.0) for SM 5.1new and OUTFOX.
MAIN BUILT = StepMania 5.1new
DON'T USE THIS IN PUBLIC PLACES.
This theme is for Home use and computers, not personal arcade cabinets. If you use this theme in personal arcade cabinets, use a keyboard to have more control on it.
About 3D Characters: I'm using NEXT PHASE (or Super Phase) support as the version of the project on Enciso's Github.
Let's thank Encisso0720 for re-uploading NextPhase support and for his hard work!
About the theme:
° The theme has custom graphics, taken from YouTube and upscaled, thanks a lot to SchneiderAFX.
° Now the theme is in 480 resolution (it doesn't affect HD graphics) now you can play MOD songs in their original resolution.
° Some bugs were fixed.
° GOLD and WHITE version, blue version was made with custom colors. Go to ThemeOptions to select your favorite version.
° Region.lua won't be neccesary. If you want it I made another one.
° To activate PlayerOptions you have to press the "/" button or "-" button, or your dedicated button.
° HIDDEN+,SUDDEN+: You can move the Hidden/Sudden+ with MenuUp and MenuDown buttons.
° SpeedChange during Gameplay: You can increase or decrease the Speed with MenuLeft and MenuRight buttons.
° Arcade Group, You will have the order of the songs as the arcade. (Explanation in Repository)
The theme now has 3 systems:
° BACKGROUND: You will have the original StepMania system, with the song's background.
° DanceStages: 3D characters with NextPhase support and Fesonic feat T27 Characters and Stages.
° SNCharacters: SNCharacters system.
INSTRUCTIONS:
For having a good experience do the following steps:
1) Go to Stepmania options/"CONFIG KEY/JOY MAPPINGS" and please configure the "Menu" buttons [MenuLeft,MenuRight,MenuUp,MenuDown] and normal buttons.
2) Go to Stepmania options/"INPUT OPTIONS"/"MENU BUTTONS" and turn it to OnlyDedicatedButtons.
Any doubt or suggestion, let me know!.

Awesome I’m definitely downloading this when I get home.
So for characters/stages, I have Next Phase installed. Should I back that up and install what is in GitHub to get characters/stages to work then? I’m assuming Next Phase will just return a black background in gameplay with your theme?

Review time!
This theme rocks. For being so early it's very well put together and really seems to support every modern version of SM5. While unsupported, I used it on 5.1-new and had zero issues. The issues that existed in the A20 theme with 5.1-new seem to all be fixed with this theme, which is great. I've been messing with it for about an hour with no issues at all so far. It looks nice, performs nice, and plays nice. For all these assets being ripped out of line out footage and cleaned up, they look damn nice. The only thing that is noticeably not an official asset is the background since it moves in the arcade. I'm sure this will be improved with updates but for a first release this close to the release of the arcade game, this is so impressive.
For anyone who was using Next Phase dancers/stages, I recommend putting those into a .zip file so you don't lose them for when you go back to any theme you've modified to support them. All Next Phase stuff just gives a black screen in game play, but the November Update works as brilliantly as it ever did. Scrap Rabbit's Classic Character pack also works with the November Update, so if you like using the 3rdMIX and 4thMIX characters you can add it in there. It's kind of inconsequential going back to the November Update for me since I use (3rd) Devil Zukin and [HP] Emergence 99% of the time anyway.
So yeah, it's definitely worth using. It's nice looking and a very fresh look after a few years of A20 based themes and STARLiGHT. This will be my daily theme for DDR stuff for a while. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress that you guys make with this.
Oh and since the first post asks for suggestions, I have two.
1) Can we get a toggle for the judgement bounce? I know it's accurate to the arcade right now, but with faster sequences I find it distracting.
2) Can we get a toggle to turn off the menu music while on the song select screen (like when changing folders) and the results screen? It's nice when streaming or recording to not have to talk over the music.
On your own time, no rush please.

Thank you guys for your kind words <3
Yes, as I said, I won't redistribute nothing about Next Phase, so please get back to November Update.
Got it! Nice request lol

This theme is a blessing from god! I love how it's accurate to the arcade version of A3 and it's fun.
Thank you Curilang!

I’ve see. stuff about controlling SM with a dance pad a few times over the past few days between here and Reddit, am I the only one that just uses the keyboard in the same manner I would use the buttons on an arcade cabinet? Everyone else seems to want to control it with the pad but that’s so cumbersome.

For me it's just more immersive since my l-tek has pretty much all I need on it to navigate. That's pretty much it. Nothing wrong with options.

Thanks for making this so quickly.
How do you get the BPM display on the gameplay screen like Yuisin has? I've seen a post about it before but I can't find it.
It might be useful to make this a feature that can be toggled in the menu.

You can actually do a BPM display! On the title screen, scroll down to "Options", then go to "Theme Options", you can change between name display and BPM display there.

Nice! Now my next question is can we get the groove radar to show values over 100? I didn't see an option for it.
(or can someone tell me how to do it)
Edit: It seems like the groove radar is bugged for additional difficulties for Lesson by DJ? It takes the numerical values from the last chart scrolled from and displays a larger version of the actual groove radar. I haven't seen this with any other song. This song is not in a DDR folder.
