Theres doubles footage thats a lil further into the song. Its not a constant single beat sudden mod.
Probably preset changing mods throughout the song similar to piu's more difficult songs.

One of two things will happen with this new 19:
1) Pretty much everyone, even guys like Hibiki and O4MA don't even bother trying this since EX gauge is guesstimated to require a 995k+ to clear. On a 19. On partial sightread. With never-seen-before gimmicks. Everybody just fucking gives up, and Konami make it easier a few months later.
2) Chris or someone else with data has definitely been playing this on private cabs for months, and someone in the US clears it in a week. The Japanese community then all fly to North America and smash every fucking DDR cab with baseball bats.
Also, in case anyone is wondering, I think the Flare Gauge is essentially a target score but as a lifebar. If you get enough Perfects, Greats, Goods and Misses to the point where the target score is no longer possible, you fail out. Flare Gauge 9's target score is 990k and general opinion is that Flare Gauge EX's target score is 995k though this is unconfirmed. Essentially this means even perfects do 10 points worth of damage to the lifebar, which, if the 995k target score is correct, means you get 5000 life. Greats on 19s tend to be around 500 or 600 points lower than a Marvelous, so just a few Greats do serious damage to your lifebar.
