It wouldn't be as offensive if it wasn't a soft pad. What they're really trying to do is maximize profits by putting out a cheaply produced product, because there's no way that Konami will make a soft pad that will actually last.

Reminder that that SOFT PAD cost the equivalent of, what? 100, 110 pounds? You have to be a straight up insane person to pay that kind of dough for a soft pad. And yet it's the only way to actually play a good chunk of the content in the game that you're already paying for.

This game is fucked up. And I was really excited at the launch because even though it was only, what, 9 or 10 songs? All of them were high quality. How things go downhill fast.

Apparantly this has already happened once where GITADORA's home version had three exclusive songs that still aren't on the default songlist after a YEAR. The price of the guitar peripheral you needed to play them? A solid £250-300. This company fucking sucks jesus christ shit fuck

I think that's the worst part of all of this. The songs and charts are legit great but are stuck behind some paywall that pretty much nobody outside of Japan will pay.

Now if they also included Starlight Dancehall, I might have a breakdown, and not the BeForU type.

Edit: WTF Konami‽ I never saw the album cover for IIDX "copula(te)" but that was quite the provocative cover there

It's kind of worse than that - the controller is no longer available, so nobody new can obtain the unlocks, whether you're in Japan or not, until Konami decides to open it up.

(They still haven't opened up the first set of HOTTEST PARTY songs that they made available to purchase for early access in arcade either.)

Step 1: Make 12 songs bundled with the purchase of an exclusive dance pad

It's a good incentive to get people to buy the pad, especially with the added benefit of these songs being playable on AC. But the limited stock is a major bummer ,and with no real guarantee these songs will be purchasable at a later date?? Seems scummy. Dangling highly requested material in the face of buyers and severely limiting who can enjoy it? Didn't realize this was Nintendo we're dealing with.

I don't know why Konami can't just be like a normal greedy game company and do song pack releases to be purchased by anyone with an e-Amusement account. We might grumble about it but would be fair and accessible for everyone.
