SMfile Uploading Help: Videos

Is there any way possible to upload SMfiles with videos, or upload them separately outside of the SMfile? Like it is with the Official DDR songs? Or is that an admin thing only? I'm sorry if this has been asked already...

no you can't but maybe if the video is small enough, you can fit it in the zip folder. if you want to compress it again you could always put the zip folder in another zip folder. it decreases the size a bit more

The maximum file size is 15Mb. Looking at many, many sims with vids, that's a high value.
Anyway, it seems that the seperate video uploading's been accidentally overlooked. I'd like to see it put in...should I ever put a video in any of my files.

There's an issue with large files at the moment, they keep disappearing once you've finished uploading, and I have no idea how to fix it. Could be something with the server or something.

If people want to upload videos, just PM me and I'll give FTP information and you can upload it there and then I'll drag it over to this site.

I don't know if this is where to post this but here I go... How do you get the videos to work? I have the .avi downloaded and everything...

Place the SM and AVI file in that song's directory, replacing the existing SM file.

it still didn't work... i just get the background image

Do you have the necessary codecs installed? You need Xvid for the videos here. Download codec packs like the K-Lite one or the community codec pack.

I still just get the regular background... i can play the avi by itself

Force a reload of songs and courses in Stepmania options?
