Don't share data or mention roms - When you're literally part of a site that hosts 1000s of songs without the permission of the copyright holder, like it's Napster, make it make sense...sheesh..

I brought this up a while back and was told that it’s different because it’s different. Okay cool I’m gonna keep pirating and I’m absolutely using this site to do it. Half my YouTube music library was obtained from here, I damn sure didn’t buy, rip, and upload from all the OSTs.

I think there's a big difference between making replications of charts for a simulator and outright hosting official data. Simfiles are a bit of a legal grey area but we don't directly host any major content like MP3s and whatnot. Plus most of the licenses are cut in a way to make them negligible to listen to outside of the game.
Comparing a cut of a popular song to hosting official data is a fool's errand. A FOOL, Jerry!!

Pirating video games is piracy

Pirating music, even if it’s just downloading a simfile, is piracy. Half the simfiles i play and put on YouTube get a copyright claim for a reason. I don’t monetize so it doesn’t bother me, but yeah doing something with someone else’s song without permission is piracy.

If you don’t care about any of it (I sure as hell don’t) then carry on with your day. If you care about only one, okay cool don’t pirate that one thing. If you disagree with the rules of this website either suck it up (I do) or go find another website.

Have you ever checked a simfile folder? There are .ogg files in those folders, which is the equivalent of a MP3. That's how the 'simfiles' are created. Pretty sure if I looked around, I'd find .mp3 files in some folders. So saying .mp3s aren't hosted - just isn't the truth.

But, whether it's negligible or not, makes no nevermind to the law - try to upload 10 seconds of any.... popular music video on facebook and see how many countries it is muted in.

And never went so far to mention official data - you can't mention 20 year old roms without getting your hand slapped in the community.

Ultimately there are 100s of places to find roms. They don't need to be hosted or linked here as convenient as it would be to have a one stop shop. As someone else said, "but the music you're hosting..." isn't a new argument. These are the rules. If you disagree with them you can either do nothing, post roms anyway and be forced to leave, or leave on your own.

Publicly blaring "WE PIRATED THESE GAMES" loses the sources that allows you to pirate the games in the first place because they are the ones who can get in trouble for it.
