Eh.
You can always play the Official ITG and ITG2 simfiles on this website.
ITG had some pretty bad doubles stepchart creators. The only exception to this rule, again, is Pandemonium which is mildly playable and none of the charts have hands.
Wonder why they made exceptions on that song.

The charts must only start getting retarded at the upper end. Oh wait, even Vertex^2 and ! aren't that retarded, just incredibly fast. Admittedly, I only did those two on half speed, but the streams aren't that complex compared to 8s, they're just much faster.
Come on, I've been playing doubles 7s and 8s on ITG 1 and 2, and they aren't bad at all. Sure, sometimes you have to run back and forth across the pads ("Lemmings on the Run"), but once you know what to do, it's pretty fun. Are DDR doubles charts really that different stylistically?
As for DjSterf's video, I'd rather have seen it from a viewpoint behind the pads, so we could see just how crowded they were. I could care less about seeing the chart on the screen, there are a million videos of the chart.

Well, that's what we meant anyway.
The everything below Hard is okay. Then again, not many people play
or
doubles charts on ITG. Some of the hard charts are okay but once it gets to the Expert difficulty, good stepcharts are few and far between.

FELMDemon, you havnt played enough doubles on DDR or ITG if you cant see that ITGs charts are vastly superior.
first of all, hands arent nearly as common as you make them sound in ITG. off the top of my head, the only songs that are hand heavy are bend your mind, while tha rekkid spins, wake up, tribal style, and disconnected disco. others have them, but they arent song breaking, like habanera1. also, they are implemented in a really fun way. i had so much fun playing while tha rekkid spins expert doubles when ITG1 was new.
second, mines make doubles so much better. they're annoying at times on singles, but the way they implement them with crossovers is great. see i think i like that sound expert doubles, lemmings on the run expert doubles.
third, almost all the songs have an expert chart, all of which are 9 or higher. this means that you get a lot of fun complex crossovers. crossovers make doubles what it is.
fourth, all the hard charts are good. you can argue that you dont like the mines or hands, but the hard charts are very well made, with simpler crossovers.
what does DDR have going for it in doubles? nothing really. most charts are lackluster. its not until you look at the hard charts that anything gets good. what are the good DDR charts? exotic ethnic, CSFILSM, do you remember me, janajana, rhythm and police, petite love, saint goes marching, etc. they're mostly 9s, ITG has a lot of good 6s, 7s, and 8s. look at DDRs 10s compared to ITGs 10+s, and ITG blows DDR away in terms of chart construction. infection, july, euphoria, and so many others are better than sakura, bag, etc. max300 and PSMO are really the only good hard charts to come out of DDR doubles. FELM, FAXX, HDV, PR, etc are train wrecks. they have no flow to them, they have awkward double stepping, and they rely on the same BPM gimmicks their singles counterparts do. dont tell me i think they're too hard either, i've passed 12s and a 13(! expert) on ITG(2).
more or less, if i want singles charts i'll play DDR. if i want doubles, i'll play ITG. there are exceptions, but thats pretty much how it is.

I rather enjoy using my hands on ITG doubles charts, and my knees on Bend Your Mind D-
and Disconnected Disco D-
.

OH YEAH? WELL I THINK...
...
...I'm just going to let you get away with that massive statement there.
I've been playing doubles charts lately but I don't have that much expertise in that field. I've only played a few
doubles charts and converted 2 ITG and DDR songs so far.
I will however take a big leap in terms of my ability. I'm going to play my first 10 footer doubles chart soon.
CHAOS
(I plan to use the stops to my advantage. XD)
Anyway, the lying down on the mat thing was an exaggeration on my part as they do look very far apart on the screen.

Speaking of lying down, one of my edits includes a 1L+2R jump (but it's meant to be a hand
). But I can do stretches with no trouble, so I might be able to do such a jump. Although I mostly play 7's on Doubles, and the stretches on those charts aren't exactly extreme.
Back on topic, how difficult would the rhythm of the Singles chart look on Doubles? I don't know if I'd do a Mode Swap, because Expert Doubles derives largely from the various Singles difficulties.

RoyBoyCF: Unless you've got at least 30 seconds to prepare for that jump, I doubt you can actually do it, unless you can jump and land in the splits. Really, go to a pair of pads, and stretch your legs to that position.

That's not a good idea.
Most likely, you'll tear a muscle doing a jump like that after running around 2 pads for a 100 seconds. Lying down on the pad doesn't seem desirable either.
If it doesn't seem like it's different from the singles chart, then I wouldn't waste the time. I only have 3 FDE edits right now despite the my category title. I just don't want to edit ! (Bang)
as it has over 700 steps.

Okay, RoyBoyCF, post the chart for us so we can try it out. Post a video or you performing it too, if possible. We'll continue from there.

If you read my minimal font...
Yeah, it's a 1R+2L jump with a 1L+2R hand. I rated the song a 14-footer, so I'd never be able to pad it anyway (let alone with freeze arrows off
).
If I were to include it, I'd leave at least the preceding measure blank.
As for a stepchart, I could do that, but I might just show the relevant section since it's a long version.

Okay, that changes things a bit, if it's got freezes there to indicate that you're supposed to crouch and use your hands.
But still, upload the chart so we can play with it, even if we can't do a 14 (all working together), at least we could try it at half speed. And I want the whole thing. Just use rar to split it into multiple parts if you have to to upload it here.
